Problem with people today is that even after you have admitted and owned up to your mistakes, they will never forgive you and will keep harassing you after. Admit your mistakes but be aware that people these days are unforgiving and there’s no winning with them

That's why I shake my head whenever I see anybody apologize for anything that is perceived as offensive but not actually wrong, because there is nothing you can say to those people that will ever placate.

Many things we think are wrong.... This is not hyper critical to get right.... Enertaining is the most critical part of his presentaitons. Some things like the obnoxous things that animals can do to the human body are important but he didn't really address non of those that he got wrong.

Yup -_- people out here trying to get medical advice from youtube hobbyists instead of asking a professional the only exception to this is when the youtuber does content that pertains to their profession like a licensed dog trainer or vet. I know I have seen people recommend things that are just straight up unhealthy (my knowledge as a vet tech) from dogs being given chunks of wood to people advocating for yak chews made of hardened cheese (dogs are lactose intolerant not advised plus it will wear down teeth/cause potential obstruction) that Said people need to talk to people who can deduct the issue. There is a reason why medicine is always changing its because we learn and adjust not only that but in college when learning to be an RVT one has to go through case studies think of what a vet has to go through? Just ugh people youtubers can't diagnose it's illegal technically a vet can't either because doctor patient relationship is needed to be established *facepalm* Anyways I could go on but people really need to stop or at the very least double check or question. In biology my professor told us "question everything doesn't matter what or how mundane it might seem question it." That remains true to this day and is also why education is a continued aspect in medicine/ other fields especially if they pertain to some form of science.

My two chihuahuas haven't had any issues with cheese chews, and they aren't strong chewers so it takes them a long time to go through them. They break down into tiny digestable pieces. They were recommended to me by a vet actually, but don't forget even vets don't agree on everything, not all things have a clear cut answer. Everyone has different experiences and as pet owners, we need to be cautious and make judgment calls based on what professionals tell us. I mean, I had my vet tell me to use hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. The ER later warned me against it, and my dogs were sick for days. Just because they're educated doesn't always mean they're trustworthy. As they say, trust but verify.

Certainly you deny yourself the opportunity to 'learn' to be right. It amazes me just how many people out there stick hard and fast (even angrily and violently) to erroneous information simply through being to proud to admit their mistake in the first place (no matter the evidence placed before them). So I'm pretty impressed that this guy is willing to update his information based on further evidence, since how often do you come across total rubbish spouted on videos (and plenty of advertisements, I'm willing to add!) and never, ever hear of it corrected afterwards? As a former ninny owner, I had no idea about this either. I used to put their water in a wide terracotta plant saucer so they could all get round it, but I don't recall any of them getting in it. Certainly the state of the water was never an issue.

It would be difficult to tell exactly which factor even if we were there as it evolved, because you can see a lot of different things that are positive arising from longer necks, and it's always likely that it was a combination of a better field of view, more access to food, sexual selection and whatever else the neck might provide.

The logic about giraffe necks being being for fighting rather than food doesn't hold up to me. I know the explanation is that giraffes get the majority of their calories lower to the ground, but that really doesn't matter. Say you need 10,000 calories a day to survive, and you can get 8,000 a day from browsing low. The animal that can reach up to get the extra 2,000 still has an advantage. Further, say there's one month of the year that lower food sources are highly competed for. That would allow long necked animals to survive better overall even if they didn't need the long neck over 90% of the time.

The funny thing is, a lot of scientists are actually really stubborn about these sorts of things. To the point that they will actually try their damnedest to disprove the experiment that "disproved" any of the already established laws of physics, and will even go so far as disavowing the person who performed the experiment if it proves sound, all so they don't have to admit they (or Einstein) was wrong.

Tbh the most trustworthy people imo are the people that say not to trust them 100% of the time, like I try but I definitely get things wrong on the time and I don't want anyone to think I'm infallible anyway, that sounds exhausting and like too much work. That and being able to admit when you're wrong is a pretty good sign if humbleness and maturity, which is why I love this channel. Like he said, science is always changing based on new information so there's nothing wrong with correcting previous statements, though there's something right in it in keeping integrity ^^

I have run into the "He has a lot of subscribers so he's right" _so_ often. Both from the "Reading Reddit posts" videos (one guy did zero research and just read a Reddit post from a guy that did zero research and basically everything about it was wrong) as well as a certain KZfaqr that reviews the historicity of various movies and somehow managed to get _literally everything_ wrong, giving a movie a perfect review when the movie was complete fiction. It pisses me off. Not a single person even willing to type anything into Google, but they'll hop in the comments section and tell people that they're wrong because X person has lots of subscribers.

Jane goodall ran a bs 'research' that placed those chimps into an environment that forced them to compete for food SHE provided. There was nothing 'natural' about the situation she was reporting on. I see SO much pride in how he was unwilling to overlook a fan of his engaging in the Argument From Authority fallacy.

Really not trying to be rude, but maybe you should get off the internet and explore the outside world more often. Plenty of people in real life own up and find no fault in saying "I was wrong," especially anyone involved with the scoences -- that's part of the beauty of science. Only on social media is this a semi-rare occurrence.

@@MatthewTheWanderer Over a year ago. I got a larger cage for mine with ramps to get to upper levels. I kept that in there for over a month and not once did she try to climb or walk on the ramps. I took them out and kept them out since. I'm not even going to try to let her swim. She's ornery enough as is.

Dr. Bryan Fry (the scientist who first purposed that Komodo Dragons have venom) literally did an experiment where he had two blood vials and one of them had been injected with Komodo Dragon saliva. The blood vial with the dragon saliva did not clot (as the other blood vial did) and remained a liquid for multiple days. Considering venom is literally classified as modified saliva, it seems pretty conclusive to me that Komodo Dragons DO have venom which stops blood from clotting.

Regardless, I'd say that one thing that is pretty clear is that their usual hunting method is not to hope the animal will die later.

We're all symbiotes right down to our mitochondria and none of us is a pure organism. If it turned out that cobras had little bugs in their venom glands that did one part of the chemical process for them, nothing would change. It would be interesting scientifically because if it was only cobras, we can speculate on their evolution. But (at least imo) venomous doesn't describe how something is done, but what is being done. That's how the word came about, right?

Maybe they like other animals build up toxins in their saliva then transmit them?

Also for another myth if they're dinosaur or even something that already coexist with them. Komodo of course a lizard and not dnosaur (avian that is the real living dinosaur). And komodo never coexist with dinosaur (except birds) because they started to appear during Pliocene, a time where plenty of modern animals including human developed

And when you run out of ideas of how to disprove your theory, you can say "As of now, this seems to be be the best explanation for this phenomenon (...until we get new ideas of how to disprove the theory or come up with a better explanation)"
