I think one potential win that was missed in Episode 15 was Rudy's reaction when Sylphie discovered the knife. The callback to when Soldat saved him from the most fatal of mistakes is what shook him so much that Zanoba asked him if he was alright

Cannot "like" this enough! The first anime that made me actually buy the light novel series and read it to the end. It is such a rollercoaster story, but it hits such great highs and depths with the feels. Thank you as always for the great Wins!

In one of these videos I swear every time Rudeus interacts with Pursena and Linia my mind is just waiting for the tune "being nice to animals is always a win" to break out. I know that's mean, but that's just how wrong in the head I am.

I want you to know that episode 22 came out on fathers day. Fyi Japan celebrates Fathers day the same date we do... so yes as far as I am concerned it was on purpose. They skipped a week so it would line up. Pure genius. Beyond that I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on arguably the best episode of the season. Also its worth noting that I find it hilarious and likely coincidental that episode 19 and Konosuba S1 episode 9 share certain connections. Made me LOL knowing what episode was next after 18 ended.

The little bit at the end there, where he starts saying it in his internal monologue, then he rejects his previous voice and says he'll go in Rudy's voice. Just little bits like that make this adaptation so incredible. Something you might miss is that the next arc is so important they released a TRAILER for it. They released a damn trailer for an arc that's starting mid season. Wild.

About the ending song for episode 15. If I remember correctly, it’s a very popular Japanese song, and it’s being sung by Nanahoshi’s VA. In the light novel, she sings a song while drunk and mentions that it’s really popular where she’s from.

Rudy beating luke makes us think how weak luke must be. Rudy is intermediate level sword user. So basically the only reason is Alive is Sylphie. Because if luke cant defend against rudy with a sword then he cant defend. Rudy mentions in the books that he didn't even need to use his demon eye to win, he only used it to make sure no one died. So.. ye Sylphie carry confirmed

Yup, and to add to this, the change-up to the song over the credits is because, iirc, it's Nanahoshi's VA singing. So while we don't get to experience her singing during the montage, we technically didn't miss out either.

Amazing season and amazing video as always! Just some little insights or extra info on some parts that the Anime changed below. In Rudeus vs Luke duel, Rudeus actually thought to himself something along the lines of "I was thinking that he was strong, and with all this equipment I would stand no chance, but when he started moving, it was like he was just slow. Compared to training with Eris and Ruijerd, this seems like a walk in the park" The Anime did a good job portraing Nanahoshi's breakdown, but they had a bad time portraing how much time passed, this first half season looked like days or week, but it actually took months. Nanahoshi's depression alone took more than a month, while Rudeus took care of her. Also the different ED in her episode, was Nanahoshi singing with a spoon hahaha On the issue about Norn going to the dorms and Aisha finding it unfair, Rudeus finished the discussion with "I'm doing this because I think it's the best, if Norn asked me to not go to school, I would refuse.", Which goes to show that he wasn't just pleasing Norn. His scene before meeting Norn actually had extra content, beautifully done by the Anime. Turning points are such a punch to the gut in MT lol Second half is looking amazing aswell, but they do skip some of the travel time on their journey and one important aspect of Rudeus personality when it comes to combat. I'll be back on part 2 👍🏻

10:40 A note about this scene: Even without the mana skin that sword wielders use, Rudeus is STILL a very formidable opponent to be up against for any normal person. He does KNOW some of all of the sword styles but can't actually get anywhere with them because he can't use the mana skin that I can't remember the name off.

Probably the biggest win I have for this part of the season? How Rudy has genuinely grown from a completely cringe degenerate into an actual functional adult, acting with maturity and handling responsibilities. I mean, look at Rudy at the beginning of Season 1, say before the Teleportation Incident, and look at him now and how he acts. Look at how far our boy has come.

Yea, this story does such a good job at being real and relatable, nothing is perfect, no answer is completely right. For instance, I think the Man-god said that just because it would setup this situation instead of him just leaving without getting everyone's support. The tease with the beastgirls was to make sure he rebelled, but we will see... thanks for the fond review of the wins as always!

The anime doesn't show it very well but Rudius actually held back a lot on the power of his attack against the puppet*. As at full power he ran the real risk of destroying the building.

The Sword duel with Luke was even more descriptive in the LN. Rudeus, although not able to weild Battle Aura, has been trained by an Advanced/Saint level Paul and Sword King level Ghislaine in Sword God Style. He realised that even with all of his magical implements, he didn't need to use his Demon Eye against Luke. Not Only showing that Rudeus is at least Advanced level in Sword God Style, but with his Magic to boot, he'd make a formidable North God Style fighter, as North God practitioners use any and all methods of fighting to win. I can't WAIT for Season 3, Especially part 2 of it.

He himself is not Advanced level, actually he's on the same level (Intermediate level Sword God Style) he just experienced sparring with opponents who is much better than Luke the whole time.

@@Crescentfangs Luke was advanced tier wasn't he? Can't really recall... But, tbf, like Ghislaine and Roxy said, titles don't really mean much. Paul claimed to be Advanced level in Sword God Style but he was clearly on the boundaries of probably King tier. But yeah, Rudeus did say that compared to Eris & Paul, Luke was plain average. Which goes to show just how Beast level both Eris & Paul were back then. A duel with Paul vs Peacock blade Auber would've been dope to see though.

Luke is just Intermediate level Sword God Style, he had more enchanted items as Ariel's bodyguard so he looks more competent. Don't forget that most swordmen in this world are Intermediate Level in one style at best (Norn included later on). The ones who are at Advanced and more level are the one that could use battle aura to enchant themselves to the point of surpassing human limit. Which we never saw Luke reach that stage the whole novel. While Paul is at Advanced level in all 3 schools, he never took an effort to train seriously to get to Saint level (which at that level, you should be able to use a signature move of their style to a starter level and master it would get you a title of King level). Of course, he seems more competent because he's well versed in all sword styles that no one aside from Sword God Gal Farion achieved before (Gal reached at least Water King level so he could use a counter move to counter his own Sword God style), but Paul will never reach any stages further because he lacks efforts and had no master teaching him a signature moves.

@@Crescentfangs Ahhh OK!! So that makes Rudeus even More skilled then seen as he was able to effortlessly defeat Luke. I always thought he could use battle aura, especially in the timeline where he and Eris married. I always thought the reason Rudeus couldn't use Battle Aura was because he was a reincarnate. I remember Paul saying that Sword God was his preferred style as North God uses too many tricks and Water God was useless against North and high levelled Sword which is why he dedicated his self-training to Sword God, so when Rudy asked him if he's gotten stronger, I assumed that in the 10yrs leaving from Buena Village, Paul had managed to at least reach Saint tier in Sword God without a teacher and the special "Sword of Light" technique. I just find it Hella fascinating the three different Sword Styles, their pros and cons and what high level practitioners are capable of. That's also why I reckon Rudeus would be a Monster in North God Style if he could use Battle Aura too along with his magic. Thanks for the refresh bro

Rudeus lacks of battle aura is because his Laplace Aspect as Laplace himself (the Demon God self, not his full perfect self) cannot use it himself. Along with his lacks of understanding how to use mana to coat oneself up to enchant and protect in one go so he can't use it no matter what. So no way he could be any higher level in any sword styles (He only learned Intermediate Sword God by Paul and Ghilaine though). At least he is officially a chantless King level in all of 4 offensive magics at this point of the story. While Sword God style always dominates the fight most of the time with a One Strike Decides a Battle Tactic (with a perfected Longsword of Light) so Water God (the first who developed the style was also a Water God magic user him/herself so it was called Water God Sword style also) was developed to counter the Sword God style with parry/counter/taunt moves (with the move Reida used on vol.17 that I can't remember a name as an ultimate move). Then in the 2nd Human-Demon War, Kalman the 1st developed a new sword style and called it a North God style. This one is for unorthodox moves so it countering Water God style because of it's too hard to understand first time but got countered so hard by Sword God style tactic as I mentioned above.

I love how in this anime, it can take a bit to figure out if Elinalise's curse is real or not. Then you remember blessed children like Zanoba exist. So being naturally cursed like that could actually make sense.

Nanahoshi always on the lone wolf track... Not trying to make friends not trying to ask for help.... Tunnel vision on getting home. Then we get Rudy squad together and she can have a Tony Stark moment to realize what this magic circle tech actually do.... Aisha got that VoTech certificate on lock ( Plus extracurriculars) from mama Lilia. She is treating me entrance exam like a CLEP ( College Level Exam Program) to test out.🧐 Norn has been on Paul's hip since the disaster with no training living as daddy's girl on the road. All she knows about Rudy. Is he beat up her dad, But everybody she trusts is trying to tell her to get over it. The little bit of structure may give her the chance to grow but she also need space to build that trust 🤔 Then we have these 2, Linia and Pursena trying to get our boi Rudy brought up on felony charges by "helping". 😏 The Linia and Pursena "Self-Own " setups will never get old. 🤘 Rudeus having that: "Wait, am I the baddie?" Realization... [Doh] He is fully using the lessons learned from the mistakes of his past to find a way to do things right... to do the things for Norn no one stayed to do for him.... just being there, giving her the opening to find Her own way out of the pit. Oh, hey, Louis from BEASTARZ, you transfer het from Cherrywood Academy? 🫡 Life altering events indeed.... #1 Mana Disaster YEET... #2 Near Death donut time with Orsted... #3 Baby Drama vs Mama Drama.... Things are definitely taking a Turn. If the Man-god offers you "A" or "B", take C. The only "favors" Rudy can collect are from those RIGHT THERE in the Academy. No one has Ainz-sama's [Message], and Rudy hasn't unlocked [Quick Travel] ... Asking for help from his friends also comes with costs. Lise would go, at the cost of her relationship with Cliff, and her curse cure, and exposing Ariel. Zanoba would go or stay but wants to protect Julie. Ariel can't go without risking her plans to retake her Kingdom, Sylphie can't go without risking the baby. Nanahoshi is on her own research thing and can't stop. Everyone else is too far away to even take the time to ask.... 🤔

i had to stop watching the anime here, i have terrible anxiety about how dark this story can take things and seeing him go against the man god garentees darkness. so i think ill watch your summary and see if it's worth watching the rest or if im avoiding an anxiety attack by not watching it.
