Story’s Shenanigans this week entailed recapping Anita Baker’s Farewell Tour. Awesome show; a definite must see! The living legend took the stage and the audience lost their minds. The songstress performed for about 2.5 hours not missing a beat and nor did she let up on her band or stage crew. She’s a true BOSS on and off the stage. She performed her most popular hits. The crowd couldn’t refrain from singing along.. at one point Ms. Baker had to point out it was her turn to sing to us, lol. Awesome Awesome Awesome show. She announced this would be her last on the road show and we would need to visit her in Las Vegas. Vegas residency! Vegas here we come! Must see show.

She is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. You can't love Soul or R&B without acknowledging one Anita Baker. Her haunting alto voice is just phenomenal and she clearly shows she hasn't lost a step in this performance. Love you Anita and from one singer to another. God bless.

"The Songstress" is my favourite Anita Baker album. I bought it on vinyl in the 80s when it was very difficult to get hold of here in the UK because Anita was in litigation against record label Beverly Glen.

@rafiqa I know it was a year ago, still,aww your feeling sad made me want to tell you up in the description "last on the road" seems she's going to do a Las Vegas show there and those are usually a solid gig for years. I am in love with Anita, her vioce is so peaceful to the soul, to the heart but she is not into her music 100%, her old ways are stopped her from performing at her greatest. As it had in the pass It's coming on slowly into her spirit. She need her closest love ones to hold her in their loving arms and let her know she ok. Her husband helped her heal from first attac,, he kept her sprit whole. Her husband her ANGLE . THIS SONG TO HIM AND HIM TO HER ,THEIR LOVE DEEP AND UNDENIABLE. The audience was Anita's background singers...They showed Ms. Baker the love she deserves. One thing about Anita and Sade, their music is timeless....none of that artificial crap, just real music. Some people, not all, go around thinking FLEAonce is all that, she's a gimmick, Anita, Rachelle Farrell, Lalah Hathaway, Jazmine Sullivan, those are just some sisters who hold it down for R&B music. LaLah did an excellent Job in remaking Angel....

It's BEYONCÉ and she's not just a singer she's a entertainer and performer, Not a "gimmick" so you should probably look up videos of her just singing and even a hater like you will be amazed at how amazing her vocals are. It's people like you and I'm sure you're black that always have to try and downgrade one successful black woman to uplift others and that's sad and pathetic of you.

@Rozziefeatherschneider I think what he is trying to say is that the vocal range of a lot of artist like Ms. B is not that strong as other R&B singers. To be honest it does not have to be because the fans do not require it from them. So can Ms B high those notes both high and low? I do not know and it does not really matter either. You have to understand the R&B music at that time of Baker you did not have some of the tech we have now. Also they Baker had Houston and other artists fight to be in that spot. The same is fke the men. The R&B artist do not have to share or fight against Luther, Mike, and other artists of that time. So it is easier to a point when it comes to range and control. No I am not black either. Latino!
