Anja e Jonas due bravissimi interpreti. Non a tutti possono piacere, ma non si discute su voce ed interpretazione. Una " FORZA DEL DESTINO " con bravissimi interpreti. Scenografia discutibile.

La combinación de tenor/barítono le da a la voz de Jonas Kaufmann un matiz muy especial que sabe manejar de maravilla. Además de tener presencia, posee el don de la actuación y domina cuatro idiomas. Y, siendo alemán, quién más podría cantar a Wagner como él ¡Es un verdadero fenómeno de esta era!

The vocal production is as throaty as it's guttural, with distinctive register breaks. Notes off the stave are squeezed out without any build-up and in many sequence smudged. Legato is as abundant as rainfall in Sahara. Stylistically, he's all over the place in addition to the fact that he is channeling his inner Renee Fleming in that every word, every sentence is fussed and tweaked to the extent that any sense of spontaneity is lost. Those comparison to the legendary Jon Vickers by certain so-called critics is simply preposterous. The Canadian's voice is naturally produced and is employed with the greatest artistry, whereas the voice of "the most gorgeous thing on the lyric stage today" (so claimed by thousands and thousands of queens around the globe) is weirdly produced, sounding synthetic and grating.

Riveting performances!!! I don't mind the clothes or the drapes. But the slowly appearance of the dad from behind is anti climatic.

La vi completa y me pareció que tanto los cantantes como el director estuvieron muy bien, lo mismo que la orquesta. Lástima que la regie y el vestuario me descolocaban permanentemente. El regiseur es un delirante que no tiene idea del teatro de Verdi; hay escenas donde pone figurantes en poses acrobáticas pero inmóviles que atraen la atención del espectador permanentemente por el riesgo de que se caigan o les suceda algo desagradable. El vestuario es igualmente desquiciado, sobre todo en el final: Leonor cantando el "pace mio dio" vestida como para una cena y con tacones es directamente aberrante. Otro tanto ocurre con "la vergine degli angeli", donde la sumergen en una suerte de bautismo evangelista en una pileta seis o siete veces. Horrible! Inaudito! Intolerable! No puede ser que los regisseurs hagan desastres y que nadie los detenga, y encima les pagan. No puede ser!!!!

J'aime les voix bien sur mais la mise en scène est minable et ne correspond en rien au livret et à la musique de Verdi !

I am sorry to say but Verdi is not Kaufmann's cup of tea. I like him in german or even french roles, but not in Verdi or Puccini. This production of Forza is one of the worst things I've seen is recent times. Why do they have to spoil the story with such silly and completely inadequate scenaries is something beyond my understanding.

What an absolutely dreadful production.

Stupid staging but fine singing. Poor singers having to keep farting about with the bloody net curtains. Typical usual stage business we've grown used to with Euro-trash productions!

Kaufmann's ascent to the top is indicative of a dearth of satisfactory tenors on the international classical music circuit. Voice alone, he would be assigned comprimario roles were he active in the fifties. Seeing that Mexican clown is throwing in the towel after repeated throat surgeries, the establishment tries to do it all over again by manufacturing another superstar tenor, one who's only capable of singing extremely awfully but is marketable with the bearing of a matinee idol. One who's ruthlessly ambitious and willing to place utmost priority on reaching the top over everything, including the attainment of art, one who's well versed in the art of prostituting art but cares little, and probably knows nothing, about art. Of course, the establishment includes big time impresarios, opera house directors, international recording companies and critics affiliated with mass media conglomerate. He also needs to have a personality that's as affable as it's weird. Weird because he has to understand the fine art of boot-licking and abusing the hand (the fans) that feeds him in the same time. Then, a star or, more accurately, a pseudo opera singer is born. Kaufmann's groupie and that Mexican clown's are probably the most wretched people in the world because they choose a fate that's more abhorrent than reveling in drenching themselves in a tub composed of toxins and human secretion (the unsavory kind): they choose to steep themselves in self-abasement and hideousness.
