Bendis and Ed Brubaker. Haven’t read Waid’s run yet, but I heard it was a breath of fresh air and return some of the fun, adventurous side back to character. Have you been keeping up Zdarsky’s run, Matthew? If not, you should, and do a video on that as well, since DD seems to your favorite character to discuss.

In my opinion, I think its because the writers do such a fantastic job in humanizing each character. It's more complex than just saying this is bad guy that does bad things or that this guy is a good guy and he's perfect. No, you see Daredevil struggling to follow his moral code. You see him having second thoughts about being Daredevil. The last issue I read had the Kingpin trying to go straight but an incident happens at someone's house and it shows a vulnerable and scared Kingpin. That's something other writers would not even care touch.

Epic Collections are our only options. Though I'm sure we will get an omnibus soon. We got every major run so far (except Soule who is still fresh) in omni form - Stan Lee, Miller, Miller post- and pre-original run, Bendis, Brubaker, Diggle (Shadowland Omnibus), Waid, Quesada (Marvel Knights Omnibus). So Nocenti's is the next big run left.

The Inferno issue was my first Daredevil issue - must have been 11. Didn’t make too much out of it back then but later in life I tracked it down because Romina Jr./Williamson’s art - the art was not as good as I remember but way better and the story a revelation. Miller/Jason’s run may be better, but I prefer this one by far.

Honestly sounds like a very engaging run. Probably not a masterpiece, but the progression of challenge and testing the limits of Daredevil as both a character and a genre of storytelling is commendable. Daredevil doesn’t work if he’s not on the brink of defeat. He captures what I think is missing from the spirit of modern Batman: a morally-challenged vigilante in a noir world of corruption and intrigue. Batman’s robot-like perfection is what makes his character suffer, where most Daredevil writers know his flaws must always be at the forefront as they’re what makes him a great character to read/watch

Her run on Daredevil was what got me back into comic books as an adult. Her stories were so gut wrenching, and grim, and the new enemies introduced felt like they real issues they had to face. You honestly felt like Matt wasn't going to survive the gauntlet she was throwing at him. It was both an intimate journey with Matt yet a fascinating look at social commentary at the time.

2:27 ish 258 was not written by Nocenti ... after Miller’s run is my favorite writer of daredevil, although Nocenti’s moral philosophy is extremely manichean, she came up with great ideas and left a very deep mark on the character (especially when she shook off Miller's long shadow). Most people don’t have a problem with politics in comics or art, it’s more about approach. If something feels alienating or pandering it doesn’t connect. If something is sincere and handled with grace, it usually works for people. This comic run is a great example of that.

Out of the Netflix characters they will retain Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones who is rumoured to have a cameo in She-Hulk show Jon Bernthal as Punisher And Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin who will return through that Echo show I mentioned. So yeah. Kevin might keep some stuff from what Jeph Loeb did contrary to your opinion.

Don't compare this run with all the political nonsense that most writters are doing right now. You can talk all the modern things that happend in the World without getting extreme pushing your agenda and forgeting that these are Superhéroes. This run it's a good example of all the things we both Say doing right. (It's well know that Ann is fron the left) :)

@@arturoluque9269 if you read this run, it's way more heavy-handed and less subtle than the work writers are doing now. Superhero comics have ALWAYS been political.

Love your channel. You should write a comic book...maybe a graphic novel...or like a one shot...your own characters. ill happily check it out. Love your content...Especially the comic book releated stuff. Yours is a youtube channel with integrity fine Sir!

I have to say that despite sharing many of Nocenti's political opinions I think she tend to be very preachy with her writing. Nevertheless I enjoyed this run. It's not perfect and you point out most of the issues I have about it, but it has many interesting ideas and there are a bunch of good stories there.

12:15 Dammit, for a moment there I thought Rom, Space Knight was making a glorious return to the Marvel Universe. Although quite why he'd be strangling Matt is beyond me...unless - that's it! Daredevil is a Dire Wraith! Get him, Rom! What? I'd rather see that than yet another Ultron story.

Maybe that's the point. If he isn't too popular, a writer can shake him up however he wants. Miller couldn't have done a seminal run on, say Spider-Man

Why did she have to bring back Fisk? He's in like every single DD comic now. Why don't give more spotlight on Bullseye(rather than a secondhand villain operating under Fisk) and other villains

Studio Gimli Fisk is the Joker. He is everywhere, even leading the Hand. I’m getting tired of him.

Studio Gimli Fisk is DC’s joker They are like some sort of virus that infects every new adaptation of Batman/DD because you *have to* do a Kingpin /Joker story if you're doing Bats/DD. I rolled my eyes as Fisk constantly showed up unnecessarily in Daredevil comics just as I rolled my eyes at Joker showing up in Batman Arkham Origins. I knew they were going to swallow up the narrative and push other, more interesting characters and sub-plots aside so we can have the "classic" rivalry again. I find Bullseye and Scarecrow to be more intriguing anyways They've been fighting those dudes for decades. Please do something else with them.
