James Garner:One of the true gentleman of Hollywood. Liked & respected by anyone who has worked with Jim. Jimmy Doohan(Scotty on Star Trek)worked with Garner on a movie. In Doohan's autobiography,Jimmy writes what a fine man Garner was & that he treated everybody,no matter their station, with care & respect.

Their politics and mine and quite different, but love both of them. Glad that Charlie is making money, but that CBS morning thing is beneath him. As for Jim Garner, Oklahoman through and through. RIP, Mr. Garner.

Charlie Rose interrupts way too much. Constantly injecting and cutting off Garner. I want to hear what James Garner is saying uninterrupted.

He was a very cool dude... Garner smoked marijuana for much of his adult life. "I started smoking it in my late teens," Garner wrote. I drank to get drunk but ultimately didn't like the effect. Not so with grass. It had the opposite effect from alcohol: it made me more tolerant and forgiving. I did a little bit of cocaine in the Eighties, courtesy of John Belushi, but fortunately I didn't like it. But I smoked marijuana for 50 years and I don't know where I'd be without it. It opened my mind and now it eases my arthritis. After decades of research I've concluded that marijuana should be legal and alcohol illegal.

I want to say something, but I don’t know what to say: James Garner was a great person and I wish he was here today. I wish he could add his voice to what is gong on today as well. Not to forget other powerful voices that could help , such as Johnny Carson and the like ~ ~

James Garner was my mother's favorite actor and if I became aware of him I started watching some of the old films and his series and I totally can see the mistake there's something very unique and smart and wonderful about this man. Charlie Rose seem to ask the right questions and I learn when I listen to great conversations thank you for the interview

I have a special interest in James Garner as an actor. I was stationed at MCAS Santa Ana when that series was being made. A friend took me to Malibu beach and had me stand where his trailer once sat. I was dumbfounded that I didn't realize where I was standing. I get a funny sensation when looking at the series or other movies with the beach, I can see why I was on the beach. I am mostly an east coast person so I don't have easy access to Malibu anymore.

As a kid all the way through adulthood to now, I would go see a movie or watch a T.V. show just because a certain actor/actress was in it untill they either lost it or got too arrogant. I can usually tell when an actor/actress is doing it for the money and not the love of the craft and the character they are playing. I never once got the impression that James Garner did what he did for any other reason but for the love of doing it. From Mavrick to The Rockford Files to Space Cowboys and many many more. James Garner was almost like family. He is very much missed. Rest in peace Sir. You did great!

I don't have the slightest doubt that, if Jim Garner had been in a prisoner-of-war camp in real life, and been faced with the same situation that his character was in "The Great Escape", he would have been every bit the loyal friend that he was in the film.

I think most would agree that he was at the very tail end of Old Hollywood. One of the new guys. Eastwood-Reynolds-others. Other than many Old Hollywood that I would like to meet (under the right circumstances--NOT just some fan on the street) Garner over the two I mentioned would be one that I would like to meet and have real respect for,

Since he utterly despised Bush jr., I think it's pretty clear what he would have thought. Garner wasn't a Leftist by any stretch but he was a lifelong Liberal and ardent Democrat.

LOL, please. McQueen had a great screen presence but he wasn't much of an actor. Garner was much better and he deserves to be placed next to Spencer Tracy, Henry Fonda, and James Stewart. Natural actors who reacted.
