I wish she had immortality, I think her best books are yet to come. She reminds me of a teenager (that's not an insult; I mean she seems so open and progressive) still in this video in some way. I am proud to say I have her book in my collection. The Witching Hour.

"We are the monsters." I love that she draws that line to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein so directly & clearly. Surprised that she didn't read it until the '90's, and pleased! Just underlines the mythic quality of the theme of "the monster within" even more. It's a big part of what I love so much about Dexter, too.

@id7701 It isn't a snub. In the case of some of her bisexual characters, such as her vampires, you can't really say that they're gay or bisexual. They have simply transcended simple lust for a specific gender and find beauty in everything, including the varying sexes.

I remember seeing Stephen Kings, Salem's Lot as teenie bopper on tv. Barlow the main vampire scared the hell out of me with recurring nightmares, years later. To me he was a pure, very powerful, ruthless psychopathic killer. I was too freaked out to read the book !

Mary Shelley was a genius. Frankenstein is such a deep story, and to come up with it as a teenager?

Personally I would love to see 'Tale of the Body Thief' made into a motion picture. Although technically it is still considered a part of 'The Vampire Chronicles', it has an originality of it's own to do very well at the theaters,of course as long as it can stay true to the novel. David is one of my favorite characters, besides The Vampire Lestat. The dialogue between every character is the best! You know, Tarantino might actually be able to pull this movie off...hmm....

I don't think it's a snub, but I also used to think why can't we have heterosexual vampires Anne? now that I've read cheesy romance between a male vampire and a human girl like twilight, I think I prefer bisexual vampires, the chronicle is about companionship not romance, it transcends gender and sexuality, it's deeper than heterosexual relationship driven by sexual desires and procreation.

Adore you Anne, my Idol, and author inspiration, I am a young aspiring author, and you're art of literature inspires me everyday, the films capture your phenomenal expertise of words and scripture. I love the emotion, passion, depression, and heartbreak of every scene, a true Idol. With real Empathy for the characters, they wouldn't be known to me or others as we know the, without your words surrounding them, inspiration.

Anne, I think the answer to your question about how monotheism could pretty much wipe out polytheism lies in the "conversion" of Constantine and the Council of Nicea. At least that's where I'm dancing with the same question.

Anne, I was wondering if Interview with the Vampire will be followed by a CORRECT sequel relating to your material? For years I have always been on the look out to see when The Vampire Lestat will be adapted into a film, or The Vampire Armand, or Memnoch the Devil. That would be a dream come true to your readers to see the oh so wonderful Lestat, Louis, Armand, Mekere, and Daniel Malloy come to life and continue their journey before our eyes.

@id7701 Get over yourself. It's hot, when she writes about two women in her women? I think it adds to her charchters. Read the witching hour. . . when poor Charlotte seduces her father. . . and she get pregnant. I think their bisexuality is amazing and makes them very real and relatable. Heterosexual guys only like women, these aren't guys they're vampires. Does it bother you when a woman speaks about a man too?

Good that "monster" is applied to a state of being. Vamp excusable is a higher ranking species. Frankenstein poorly made a person , failed miserably to Goddess and womban. better to abort than be alone and disabled.W here is her respect t for AkashA? Why is she Claudia mYline all dead?
