Annette Polan is not just a renowned portrait artist, but also a West Virginian. Based in Washington, D.C., Polan taught at the Corcoran, has had very "well-placed" portraits, including at the West Virginia capitol, the U.S. capitol, and the National Portrait gallery. She now focuses on her personal studio practice, including her "COVID Mandala" she made throughout 2020.
