Yeah, I feel like Annie's philosophical element was birthed from something different though... childhood trauma, always reverting to a shell inside her own mind hardening her & protecting her from the outside world, along with symptoms like not being able to show to herself or others she cares about them or anything deeply. She is always just in all her own thoughts and really dissociates from a lot of what happens in the story, that's how she's able to process it all. Armin is motivated by his curiosity, desire for freedom & learning more about the world, wanting to be helpful to people after being so helpless with his childhood best friends instead of just a burden among with many other motivations. I really hope they get married after all this, despite all the hate Annie gets she's' always been one of the most complex characters in the entire AoT story, and Armin being a genius obviously have always seen it, even all those years ago with his conversation to her about "Being a good person".

It was “humiliating” the first time you see it, because the Female Titan was menacing and unknown, but then in retrospect you find Annie actually *deliberately* checked on Armin, possibly for inexpressible romantic reasons. It was sweet, without considering the fact that hundreds of Survey Corps’ lives lost. Plus Armin had suspected Annie before the Survey Corp expedition, so he could have directly make his suspicion voiced, but he decided not to, possibly because he doesn’t want to believe Annie and is trying to give her a chance. Again, it is sweet if you do not consider the lives lost.

Yeah, the chick that aided in the genocide of hundreds of thousands of Eldians and explicitly said she would do it again without and ounce of regret totally deserves a happy ending.

Both of them have done horrible things out of necessity. I think you're missing the point of Armin's: "I really do hate the phrase good person" along with Annie's own view on the subject "Even if I'm swept along by the flow, I still want to be considered human." They're simply characters that are used to present these thoughts. Whether or not it's a realistic relationship I don't particularly care, because having titan powers or any such immense power bestowed on one single person isn't realistic to begin with and we don't know how someone would behave in such a situation. Both of them have good hearts and understand that they didn't kill people just for fun. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility for them to forgive each other. Also it isn't like the other characters haven't felt hostile towards one another after the reunion, such as Jean attacking Reiner, so the possible discord arising from their past is presented in some form. Same with Connie trying to feed Falco to her mother. Mikasa and Annie arguing about killing Eren etc. There is friction between the characters.

They did have a deep conversation though, at the end of season one, and at least Armin left an impression on her. They even refer back to that conversation in this scene.

You completely misunderstood. No one is good in their world. Armin himself has killed far more civilians, children etc than Annie ever did and this weighs in his consciousness heavily. Hence why he doesn’t like the phrase good person. It’s also why he forgives Annie, otherwise he couldn’t forgive himself.

She never wanted to kill Marco, she never wanted to kill anyone in the survey corps and she did feel bad about it. Literally the only reason people think she ‘enjoyed it’ is because she span someone around and was fairly brutal early on. It’s ridiculous. And Annie always thought of Armin as a good person, something which she was jealous of. She then found comfort in Armin telling her that that the term Good person is naive and no one is good in the world, including Armin himself. That’s the point
