Because people want to adopt babies preferably than deal with the baggage of adopting an older kid with a lot of mental problems, stress, and attachment issues. I have been in foster care before at the age of 12 and it is not a pleasant experience. My mother was my middle school teacher.

I never knew the lyrics to this song but that hits home because I was put into the abusive foster care system and yes it's absolutely awful, you go in one way and are never the same after getting out if you ever get out, I went from a happy child living with my grandma to a very damaged teen and damaged man, I still have mental scars and old habits from being in that system, what ever you do never put your kids into that system, they are all about money, not about caring about kids and only thing that will come out of it will be damaged and broken people.

Jokes aside, In the scene on where they sang this. I'm actually impressed that they could sing while cleaning, but then it's also kind of a cheography and with a bit of acapella using cleaning tools in the start (I know that it probably took a lot of rehearsals to do, but even then that's still impressive that the kids managed to those in one whole shot, such good talent and I just want to point it out).

Spent 3 years in foster care. It was hell... Wish I could say this song got me through it but nope lol. The Seventh Brother was the one movie that kept me sane lol. Though after I got out of foster care Musical's kept me from going into that deep dark hole called depression half of the time. lol.
