I really hope my 4000 gets fixed soon as well. I think it needs a new CIA and a probably a new cpu board. It's away for analysis atm.

Dope fix man. Good job. Wow, never have seen a 4000 before. Those workstations look awesome. And I bet it can run Doom lol. They were mostly used for higher end workstations for Lightwave right?

A lot of the corrosion problems could be solved by simply deep frying these boards in a tub of Amtech flux... ok that's a bit expensive unfortunately, but you really want to start using the stuff with hot air.

I have amtek flux and use it when i need to, its great , flows like butter, until it turns in to Caramel brown turds

Great videos and thanks for sharing, makes me want to pull my A4000 out of storage, but sadly I know much of the problems (memory being held in with Fishing Line and sockets broken, no Flicker Fixer connected to original 1084s, and no mouse lost ages ago). Was hoping for a PiStorm32 for A4000, but developer mentioned limited interest/platform focused more on A500 and A1200 that has significantly more users. Either way, a newer BFG9060 that you mentioned in your "Want a Super fast Amiga? The BFG9060 128mb 100mhz CPU and MoRe!" video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m698mtajm7yzZXU.html maybe a better option and what I should invest in if I wanted to repair/rebuild my original A4000. So much technology come and gone including TBC and Video Toaster, those were the days. 😅

get it back out, you can use a 31 khz monitor on them with the little chrome db23todsub15 adaptor, or there are even hdmi solutions out there on ebay

@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Great advice and how would you handle the speed? There are not many accelerator cards available for the original A4000, but thankfully the battery failed long ago and I pulled it originally setting the Time and Date when system was booted and used occasionally. I also had network card that provided limited BNC network support for FTP and otherwise, but those days have come and gone.
