Love these back to back hauls! As someone who Genuinely loves Serpent & Dove then extremely loves Scarlet Veil, they are slow moving and no spice (it’s ya). I know in Fantasy Romance some want fast pace and spice, but the characters and writing are done well. 🖤

I just got Scarlet Veil out of my library cause it sounded interesting. Have not read Serpent & Dove, nor did I plan to.....do you think I can just read Scarlet Veil & 'get it'? or do you HAVE to read S&D to understand it?

I loved serpent and dove too. It was the book that introduced me to romantasy and in the span of two weeks I went from reading non fiction to being a fantasy girlie. I hope the scarlet veil is just as good x

🖤 Ive read The Hundred Loves of Juliet. I enjoyed it but it didnt meet my expectations. The concept was really interesting, but I felt that the writing was a bit too ya. This isnt normally a problem but the characters are like in their 30s and have immortal souls so. Also has a pregnancy trope which I wasnt expecting. The afterword from the author is so touching though and explains a lot about why she wrote it. I gave it 3 stars

The Witches of Vardø was a really good read - fiction but based on real events to do with the persecution of witches in Norway

Master of death is a completely different writing style to anything else that I have read from her. Easier to read and humorous not pretentious at all.
