I would try to avoid trading Mailloux. He is big he is tough, he has a hard slap and he is good at generating offence. This guy is the real deal, you don't trade him.

You are not getting Perfetti for any of the defensemen named above. This is not a shopping kart like quantity versus quality. You will have to give a Ghule or Mailloux or maybe Reinbacher for Perfetti. The kid is only 22 years old, scored 19 goals 19 assists for 38 pts and a +13 differential . The downside he's another small player.

You gotta give to receive, if y'all are only wanting to trade bottom pair D's then don't expect a Cole Perfetti to come in return😂 Barron as of rn doesn't get you more than a 3rd round pick, his progression is very stagnant. Harris is a jack of all trades, good at everything but not great at anything. Struble has the most upside of the 3 imo, possible top 4 shutdown D (edmundson-esque) in the future. All in all, Winnipeg isn't trading Perfetti for a late 1st and a Barron for example. They would ask for more juice. I hate to say it, but, I agree with the article. I don't think you're getting Perfetti for anything less than their own 1st and Mailloux

Cole Perfetti is too small for a player that Hughes desires like Logan Mailloux. He is 6'3 and has Sheldon Souray type of career projection. If his defense comes around, he could move up to Weber type of player. If Cole was 6'2, Hughes would do it, 5'11 are easier to come by.

What’s the deal with wanting to trade Mailloux so much?? I don’t get it… 6’3’’ right shooting defenseman who is mobile, physical, who has a knack for scoring goals. We’ve invested in this kid. He’s worked hard to make amend and develop into a pro and you want to trade him? He’s gonna munch 20-25 minutes a game as part of our future playoff team… We have him and Reinbacher as our top 2 right D for years to come and that’s awesome.

So don't even bother offering those 3 and expect perfetti in return... you can't just add quantity to expect quality like Ced has said. You absolutely need to start with a young stud such as Mailloux OR Reinbacher and as I dislike it too... Mailloux is the easiest choice

The Habs have a Top 2 D Man in Mailloux, I think he’ll be Top 15 Dman in the League, possibly even a Top 10. He has all a rounded skill set with that grit that every team is looking for, and he’s a RH D so I don’t think so, even if he’s a Bergy pick and with his past, which is a lot more complicated then people realize. On that note NO. Perfiti is good but not at that cost!

There's no way Montreal will ever trade Milloux for Perfetti. Don't get me wrong Perfetti is a going to be a good player. But. Mailloux is a big right handed offensive defensemen. They are very rare is this day and age in the NHL . If they could throw in a first plus Harris or Struble than that's something to too definitely consider.

There is no way I would trade Mailloux period. Once the Habs are competing in the play offs, a an Arber / Logan dline will be nasty to deal with for any offense. We need to think about 3-4 years from now….. for Pefetti, I am ready to load up a deal with a first round, Harris and Baron…. Or first round, Harris and a young forward like Messi.

As a Winnipeg Jets fan, I'd love for this to happen, but highly unlikely if it's a direct Jets - Habs trade. Maybe if we get a 3rd team involved like the Sens, then yeah, I can see it happening. The Habs get Perfetti & Jakob Chichyran, The Sens get Harris & Iafallo & My Jets get Logan Mailloux & Struble. Highly doubt Kent Hughes will make that trade, but it's more likely than a Mailloux - Perfetti trade.

Your team has the smartest GM in the league right now & no way would he ever trade a promising young talent like Mailloux for a journeyman defenceman (although very good) like Chichyran. I would love Mailloux, but realistically, I see our team getting someone like Shayne Gostisbehere in FA. Chevy is a moneyball/Billy Beane type of GM where he builds a team off the bargain bin.

Only 4 D have top 4 potential, Reinbacher, Guhle, Hutson and Mailloux and they are going nowhere. More likely they trade Barron, Harris, Struble and Kovacevic for picks and they have plenty of picks, 23 total picks and 7 in the first 2 rounds the next 2 drafts to acquire a young top 6 forward. Why would they trade there future D core? You're overrating the scrubs that have at best 3rd pair potential.

For all the comments saying you can't trade Mailloux, you should trade Barron or Harris or w/e.... let's flip the roles. Are you trading a Newhook for a late 1st and a 7th D? Newhook at the same age had 30 pts in 82, Perfetti has 38 in 71. He arguably has even more upside than Newhook. If you really want Perfetti, you gotta pay the price. He's not going for anything less than their 1st and Mailloux or Ghule for example.
