Watching this video reminds me of when my Great Aunt Leona taught me how to build quilts. It is hard to explain to others my process (which is basically her process…which is astonishingly similar to your process) and your quilt building gave me such a feeling of nostalgia and happiness. Thank you

I just ‘discovered’ your KZfaq channel, and I look forward to following you. Thanks you for sharing your thought processes! I love this process. I recently decided on focussing making mini quilts, and I think your tree design will work well for a small fall wall hanging. I’ll try using mainly blues for the ‘sky’, a scattering of autumnal fabrics amongst the branches, and a blanket of autumnal fabrics-perhaps with a few greens peeking through-for the ground. Our leaves are starting to change colours, so I’d love to work on this project now. Unfortunately, I can’t start my quilt for at least a couple of months, but it’s definitely on my bucket list. Thank you for the inspiration! Hmmm….might become a series of 4- one for each season…. Stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦

Ma’am With those splits…. Try this method to see if it works for you. After establishing the angle you desire to have the split at, draw a line on the fabric, face up, to mark the seam line on the left side of the strip. Sew the strip on the fabric as you sew a snowball (no cutting of fabric yet). Press the strip open over the fabric. Mark on strip the seam between your rows on fabric. Use Erasable pen of course. Now, cut the fabric underneath, as you cut when doing a snowball. Shift and sew the fabric on the other side of the strip aligning the seam between rows with the line drawn on the strip. Hope you will understand my explanation and you find this helpful.
