This channel has been created to record and share what happens across four (for now) separate nest boxes all placed within a relatively small rural garden no more than 120 square meters in size. The garden is part of a new development that was previously an open meadow surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. To try and offset the impact on the local wildlife I was keen to fit in as many nest boxes as possible alongside making the garden itself wildlife friendly. Two have been in occupation for some time so we are hoping to see some nesting come spring.
We have the "House" box sized for Blue Tit or smaller birds. The "Garage" box sixed for Great Tits. Both these boxes are near side view boxes purchased online. We also have a custom made front on box suitable for Robins and Wrens, the "Robin" box and another custom box for Blackbirds, the "Blackbird" box.
