in this video, we rescue another paint job from years of neglect. This Chrysler Crossfire has been baking outside in the sun for 20 years. Now we bring the finish back to life. Watch the video to see the incredible results and what it takes to get them. Dont forget to like the video and subscribe to the Apex Detail channel if you enjoyed the video. Developed during the union of Daimler and Chrysler, the two-seater is based on the Mercedes-Benz R170 platform which shares 85% of its components with the first generation SLK. The second generation SLK was built on a new R171 platform starting in the 2005 model year; the R170 platform was essentially handed down to Chrysler for use in building the Crossfire. Having initially arrived in 2001 as a concept car styled by Eric Stoddard, the Chrysler was further refined by Andrew Dyson before production began in 2003 for 2004 model year sales.

Had this on my midnight blue C5 Audi A6 2.7T. Hand wet sanded with 1500/2000 grit soft foam pad on upper pillar and below window sill, being extra careful on edges, so thin and easy to burn down. Went from flaking to cloudy, even had to go into light color coat sanding, then 2500, 3000, then several rounds of light polish on DA. Came out beautiful but didn’t re-clear with 2K. Subbed ceramic coating and no issues since. 100% with moderate work.

This was a fantastic transformation ! Appreciate the real time filming and step by step process. I did a mid 90's VW Corrado in red maybe 10+ years ago that was heavily oxidated with very little clear coat damage. I used my 3401 at the time and probably Cutmax and the results were amazing, not nearly as rough as the Crossfire. I have 2 quick questions 1) do you think the Turtle Wax clear coat will work on headlights as a protection after sanding/polishing out ? 2) when you resprayed the drivers side rear, did you respray black or clear and what did you use ? The results were incredible. THANK YOU !

Wonderful turn around. Leaves me a few questions on the sprayed areas. 1) did you cover the rest of the car to avoid any over spray? 2) did you spray some clear over the new color coat? 3) how long did you wait to blend it into the surrounding area. I’ve got a vehicle I take care of and the owner says I’m welcome to “ try” and improve it but have obviously never done this before. Like everything there is always a first time..
