Paint correction is the process of removing minor scratches and imperfections found in the vehicles clear coat. use quality and CLEAN microfibers to remove residue / prep. Otherwise you scratch the surface you just polished. Also, always work out of the sunlight

Brian one important thing I’ve learned is organization. I’ve learned the hard way to have everything ready for what I’m about to do. Otherwise you waste time looking for stuff. Where did I put that brush. Where is my extension cord. Do I have enough supplies to finish the job. Great advice as always.

Something I did when starting was not cleaning/changing the pad(s) and continued using the same one on 2 panels while adding more polish. Big mistake, and I had to try to see what I wasnt doing correctly. I was doing and learning all on my own and then figured out to replace/clean the pad per panel. I was 13 years old when that happened, practicing what I saw doing my uncle but forgot to take notes on all I saw from the paint shop.

Great video and you gave us a lot of real tips. I have learned being in a good mood is very helpful for staying methodical. I have tried to speed up the polisher on really hard paint but looking back just grabbing the rotary with a wool pad would have been a better choice. As far as lighting I prefer to dark box too. Thank you for a video we all needed to hear.

There is a channel that has their own product line that constantly brings up that they use ZERO pressure and runs the polisher around one handed. I’ve never seen you do this.

I have polished my car seven times with three polishes but I have not been able to remove the holograms I put there - they have gotten so bad. I can’t polish anymore because I’m afraid of destroying the paint because it has very thin clear coat. So now I enjoy detailing through watching videos.

Which polisher did you use? DA or Gear driven? With both of them you can get the holograms out. Good luck if you give it another try

Are you saying that once a two-stage paint correction is done, that process should not be done again? What to do if the paint became swirly again after a couple of years?
