Another photo-radar, red light camera ban introduced in Arizona

7 ай бұрынLove them or hate them, photo radar and red-light cameras are scattered throughout the state, but a new bill introduced in the legislature seeks to ban them altogether in Arizona. Some lawmakers say red light cameras and photo-radar speed checkers are bad for your constitutional rights. Arizona State Senator Justine Wadsack wants to see them banned statewide, just like her city of Tucson did in 2015.

Why would you ever want to drive and take the chance of being distracted and have a accident because of the money maker stick up artist the camera. to stressful to dangerous

I have no problem with redlight cameras they actually are 100% accurate. The radar vans were not, and I got a ticket based on someone else speeding the other way. The radar bounced off him took the picture of me coming toward the van. I had just turned out of a parking lot was only going 25 mph they claimed I was going 50 in a 35. Since I had no video no way to prove it that's when I bought a dash camera.

In Arizona if you receive a ticket by first class mail throw it way and forget it. If you acknowledge getting it they will make you pay but if you don't sing for a ticket or aren't served by a process server or sign for it as certified mail it cannot be enforced by law

I would like to move to Arizona but not with all this camera stuff what a misrable way to live. Sorry i hope they get rid of aii of them there better ways to make us not this way it just puts your money in the pockets of the city

Nobody pays them tickets and there's not a damn thing. You can do about it to get them to pay it

This will make insurance rates go up in Arizona. But it will only hurt those who actually carry insurance. Statistics show 1 in 3 cars don't have insurance, so those people won't give a damn if they crash into you.

In Arizona they cops need to either have you personally sign for a ticket, have a process server hand it to you, or you need to sign by certified mail for a ticket to be valid. The AZ Constitution doesn't allow tickets sent by first class mail to be valid so everyone throws them away anyhow. I got a photo radar school zone ticket last year and tossed it and that was that.

@@roser8911 Do not call and ask about the tickets because that is acknowledging you got them. Do not sign for any certified letters from the City of Chandler and the post office has to let you know who the letter is from before you sign for it. If they are serious they will send w process server but I've never had that happen and I've been throwing photo tickets away for 15 years. Toss them out and don't worry about them.

These lights have pros and cons. At one time we had enough officers to take care of traffic issues but they let anyone and everyone move here Most areas in Arizona have new neighborhoods and new roads we cannot expect PD to be able to take care of all areas I don't agree with the cameras I don't like the cameras. If we all abided by the speed limits and the traffic laws there would be no cameras

Only mad cause I can’t drive and keep getting tickets !!! Yet fentanyl is ok and giving out free drug paraphernalia is ok but giving out tickets is not !!!! People are so backwards !!!! Completely insane

I agree with you, but FYI for you, because you feel like me, is multiple people have said those things can be inaccurate and even crooked. I wish all areas had traffic cameras, but they have to be regulated

I absolutely love red light cameras & speed cameras and I think they are 100% appropriate to have on the streets as they save lives. I am completely fine with them as I know they do their job at reducing accidents at intersections and school zones. I hope they are here to stay!

No they aren't if they run a light there they will run them elsewhere! And when the public sees the Government vehicle committing traffic violation and nothing is done about that why should we obey the traffic codes.

You would have that ticket drop from the photo alone! If went and seen the judge. Your not responsible for the actions of anyone else.
