Without promotion and relegation in North America it kinda takes away the club support we have here. We were on the verge of the playoffs for the premiership when city got relegated back in 98, they dominate now and we;re on the verge of the 3rd promotion in 5 or 6 years. That makes football interesting here, albeit money seems unavoidable to success now too, so not so different.

Fellow American here and a Brighton & Hove Albion fan + Wrexham fan. I agree completely with your statement. The fact the MLS here in the US has no promotion/relegation system whatsoever is a total travesty. The US does have leagues other than the MLS consisting of teams that have beaten MLS teams in the past. It is entirely possible, and it needs to happen. There are teams in US lower leagues that could easily beat low to middle tier MLS clubs on a regular basis. San Antonio FC comes to mind. Also, didn't Pittsburgh FC (lower division side) beat MLS side New England Revolution in the US Open Cup (US equivalent of the FA Cup in England) a couple weeks ago?

I was under the impression that the town of Stockport only has one football team unlike the city of Nottingham which has two bigger football ⚽ teams. 😮😮🎉🎉

As a county fan, there's nothing wrong with calling us 'Stockport' as the town of Stockport only has one professional club unlike Nottingham. It would be the same as Blackburn expecting everyone to call them Rovers or Huddersfield wanting everyone to call them Town

@@SidFreeman0 Yes there is; ‘Stockport County’ is ok, but ‘County’ is how pretty much 100% of supporters refer to the team including you and all your mates; it’s not asking too much for Sky to reflect that occasionally. One or two professional teams is irrelevant; pretty much 100% of Forest fans call their team ‘Forest’ (as do Sky), and pretty much 100% of Notts County fans call themselves ‘Notts’. *Nobody* apart from Sky calls County ‘Stockport’.

@@TheStockportHatter1986 You only have to look at the reaction of your fans after your win against Salford. Too busy kicking off with police and steward, throwing objects, threatening our player and goading us instead of celebrating your win. Caused trouble at Salford as well in the first leg and a number of stewards from various clubs when I've travelled away have cited your fans as some of the worst behaved.
