I think the jacket is a cocoon coat! They were popular in the 1920s and look super comfy

I agree about the unusual colour for the doll outfit. It's not my favourite colour, but I think it totally suits the character and the time period. She looks like she could be a doll from decades ago, which is so cool. I almost ordered Tiana today when I bought the 17" Snow White, but after paying for Snow, along with $50 shipping to Canada, I was feeling poor.

The thing on the belt is a closure popular in the 20’s! It’s designed with firefly wings on it but it’s just a fancy closure. :)

the firefly on the back of her dress is actually metal I believe!! to me the middle piece is a firefly on one side and a lotus on the other, or maybe a star to reflect ray and evangeline

She’s my first Disney special edition doll. I haven’t unboxed her because I love how she looks in there. Thank you for showing us your doll. She really is amazing and its nice to see others excited for her.

I like her Erte 20s look. The 20s is one of my favorite eras with the Flapper Barbie being my favorite of the dolls I own.

I LOVE this Tiana soo much😭😭 It sucks so much that she’s US only because she’s stunning, I might have to ask my friend who lives in America if she can order her for me😅 I’m looking forward to seeing the new Ariel because I don’t really like the other one from this line

I really like all of them except for the one in the golden dress. I wish they could have done a different dress on her because otherwise she has the best hair I think

IMO, instead of doubles I would’ve loved if Disney did characters that don’t get recognition. Maybe Alice, Jane, princess eilonwy, etc. Tia sis gorgeous though

That's what I thought when they said there would be 15 dolls so I was bummed that they did doubles. I still absolutely adore them but it's a shame. They did do Meg, Giselle and Esmeralda back in 2019 and Meg got another designer this year (d23 anniversary doll) so I imagine that must be part of the reason. I think it's mostly that this collection was specifically for official princesses. I'm very surprised they didn't do tink, alice and esmeralda as they were all part of the official princess lineup at one point iirc

1st one is Briar Rose ( Aurora) 2nd one is Tiana 3rd one is Ariel they are all 2nd version take on the designer disney princess

I was so impressed with the pictures of this doll that I bought it as soon as it came out; however I’m disappointed now that I have it because de skirt is deformed specially in the hips area :(

A lot of people had some defects with this doll, for example, messy hair, stars not attached to her hair, black paint spots and ruined jacket. I do not know why they did not care about this doll. Aurora came out with really good condition. Maybe they saw that this collection is not selling so they do not care anymore. I do not know but these are really expensive dolls so they should all be fine.

Where did the star theme come from?

The evening star, the biggest motif in the movie and the theme. Tiana thinks Charlotte is ridiculous for thinking everything can just be wished for and believes that you can only get what you want through hard work. But throughout the movie you see many different characters experience the star and how they interpret it. It’s really sweet. That’s where the Evangeline name came from.
