Captain Spider-Man I suspect people feel that the shtick is getting old, and even if it wasn't, the stories around him are looking a little worse for the wear. But it seems like there are a lot of fans that have enjoyed the last couple movies (3 and 4) in spite of them being panned by critics...so who knows...I didn't bother with the last two movies, and I wish I hadn't watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I really, really hated it...Alice in Wonderland was almost that bad, too...just my perspective...

I think the problem with Johnny Depp is after the Pirates of the Caribbean films most of his characters have been the same kind of quirky weirdo or the projects he has chosen have been rather poor and people are getting bored of it. Give the guy a decent script and a different type of character to portray and he might become popular again. The guy is a talented actor and has a great range if given the opportunity.

Johnny Depp should never have even been associated with this list! Yeah, not everything he stars in is a hit, but since when has he become hated? To this day, he continues to be one of my all time favorites, and I'm sure many would consider him to be one of the best and most versatile actors of current times. Lots of people are bored by his movies and his toxic personality is a turn off to other actors and directions. I only liked Gilbert Grape, E Scissorhands, and Donnie Brasco. I guess he was good in the Pirate movies but i didn't see them. Some you dislike someone because they are way more popular than they should be.

I like Jonny Depp but i get it why would someone hate him. He is turning into Adam Sandler. He is just doing one role in every movie. His perfomances are definetly enjoyable, but you just gotta wonder when he will flip the scale too much and when people get tired of it. Hopefuly he will get more serious in the future, he is fantastic actor.

+ThirySix Zed (ThirtySixZed) I wouldn't say I "hate" him but I do tend to avoid films with him unless I am particularly interested in them, simply due to his style of acting. I find it over the top and unbelievable, and usually tends to take away from the movies he is in. I know a lot of people disagree with me, but I've never taken a liking to him, he comes across as a bit obnoxious on screen.

Great movies that starred Johnny Depp (that i've seen): Pirates of the Caribbean 1-5, The Lone Ranger, Rango, Blow, Edward Scissorhands, Benny & Joon, Transcendence, Sleepy Hollow, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This is all just my opinion of course.

+gmu2 Then go and watch Sweeney Tood and how he won a Golden Globe for it. Not all actors work in Academy Award winning movies. An actor who doesn't try any possible role is not a real actor. Picking only convenient movies just shows that you don't have the guts to portray any challenging character. That's why so many people get an Academy Award and then disappear. They are terrorized knowing that any new movie that they make will not be as good, and prefer not to give it any chances to fail. As I said, no acting guts.

During filming of one of the POTC movies back in Hawaii, the set was at a pier that had a bunch of locals and tourists all standing and waiting to see maybe a glimpse of Johnny...after the shoot was done he unselfishly came by and visited ALL those who had been waiting hours just to see him, let alone get a picture and autograph.
