Күн бұрынNothing major here just a run of the mill rekey. This video is more focused on the removing and replacing of the locks, most of the actual “rekeying” part was edited for time (about 12 minutes or so on the actual Kwikset rekey as one plug had to be replaced because it was broken.)
So, again, not much actual rekeying in this video :) but enjoy nonetheless.

I hate picking upside down cylinders. If it where me I’d be looking for another door to pick first. That unlocked back door proves my point. Lol.

Good job picking upside down cylinder with a snake rake I typically use a bogi or worm and a snap gun.

Nice big and clean house. I have a vacant open and rekey on monday, but because we do not have those “pick with a lollipop stick”, atleast one cylinder will most likely end its life as scrap brass.

SE Lock and Key youre supposed to be bigger bro- at least 100k subscribers! I've been doing a lot of posting in forums trying to get more viewers for ur channel. I think I know what's going on tho - ur channel is like finding a diamond or some kinda treasure people want to watch it but they don't want to share it! Since I started watching I now have a new appreciation for the snake rake in my kit. Also I'll try to get in touch with "lock Noob" and see if he can feature u on his Channel!

G'day, Se lock and key. Just a quick question or two. I notice you never use a cordless drill to remove and replace screws.Just curious. Also, did you intentionally leave that key in the deadbolt on the rear door or was it a brief moment of forgetfullness? Cheers:-)

Paul Springett me removing it probably got cropped out, started with two keys and two keys went in lockbox so I didn’t forget! :) My hands just stay too full to juggle an electric drill. A few people have asked me about that :) on a related note I have fairly strong forearm muscles ;) Thanks for watching!

I have a locksmith friend who would Carry lip stuck in his tool box for Marking the end of the bolt of a Dead bolt when it wouldn't line up With the strike plate mark the end Of the bolt extend bolt check location On strike plate hope this helps

You ever use an A1 QP1 Kwikset puller? Doesn't work on the knockoffs but it make real kwiksets sooooo much faster.

It amazes me the variety of locks you encounter. Most of my stuff is big box key in knob and deadbolt stuff. When you rekeyed with a Baldwin Cylinder to match the look of the mortise, it looked like you used a Kwikset key. Do you use Kwikset plugs to cut down on the type of keys you have to carry on the road? I know you mentioned a Twitter conversation about it. You do a great job Jason, thanks for all the info for us who don't deal with the older stuff.

William Murray old old Baldwin was a Segal keyway which can be keyed up to KW so I keep a variety of them in the truck! Thanks as always for watching :) 👍🏼

Why don't you use an electric pick like this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLGKktl7qbOuaXU.html It seems to be quite effective for the majority of locks. Since you are a professional, would'nt it be worth the investment?
