Speaking of starting late in a wrestling career, Raufeon Stots who wrestled at The University of Nebraska @ Kearney did not start wrestling until his Senior Year of HS and was a Junior College AA at Labette Community College and then went on and became a 2X NCAA Divison2 National Champion. I was lucky enough to be his HS Coach and I then had connections with the Coach at Labette CC and UNK. The rest of his story is pretty amazing and he has accomplished so many great things so far in life. He has been a Title Holder in Bellator also. He would be a great interview!

So I have a question for me that I’m hoping someone can answer so my two main sports are wrestling and baseball (I’m also going to play football but it’s been over 6 years since I played last) and I’ve already decided to give up basketball for wrestling and I am better at wrestling by a decent amount than baseball but I have a lot of potential in both also while I love both I think I enjoy baseball just a tiny bit more and for at least my freshman year I’m going to put about the same amount of effort into both but by either my sophomore or junior year I would like to decide which one I would like to focus on and try and become the best at and I know I have a while before I need to figure this out as I’m only an eight grader currently and about to go into high school I was wondering does anyone have any advice
@christopherroth7239
@christopherroth7239 3 ай бұрын
After that first year doing both you should know which you want to focus on. If not, maybe you were meant to do both. I enjoyed the slower pace of baseball after a grueling wrestling season. Burn out and over training are very real.

I don't know if you can beat the man in the next weight up, however I thought you got a bit manhandled & stopped in critical spots in the ncaa's. Really focus on getting a lot stronger, not just strength and conditioning.. but pushing some iron, kettle bell work outs incorporated with bench, squats, cleans etc.. gaining really power, hopefully you can still make 141, but time to be selfish, it's your last year. imo.

Caden I hope you see this. I watched your National championship video 3 times. First you on the backside of a bracket in the blood round are good enough to win the entire thing. Second this is the second year in a row I have sent you this message. I want you to find the best guy on the team on the bottom and I don't want you to let him up easily all off season. Watch your match against the Bum in the blood round that was jumping up and down to beat you. He worked you on top the entire last minute to win that match. He made it so damn hard for you it was crazy. You let him up all 3 times with no resistance . 3 free points. You can't give these guys points in the national tournament. You need to make these bums work for every point. Please work on the top game over the off season. You say your teammates say you're the best on top go back and look how many points you have given these bums over the season I bet you will be blown away. You lose a match by 1 and let the Bum up 3 times he didn't even have to work for the win. Next year you will win the national championship. All business next year trust me you will not be happy with yourself if you let this chance slip away. I played division 2 baseball and I miss it to this day and I'm 47 years old. You will be a national champion next year. Get to work now.

You didn’t choke. Is what it is. Last 2 years you treated Regionals and National as any normal week. Maybe start slower and ramp it up as season goes on, maybe you peaked early. What the heck do I know, just saying. Keep up the great work on and off the mat.

The idea that someone would say you ~ choked ~ in the nationals absolutely pisses me off... I aint holding back! Only a Wrestler can understand HOW difficult it is to achieve what you did... Watching those two loses... YOU GOT CAUGHT as they say... YOu were initiating the shoot..It would be a different story if the move was put on you... But look at the situation .. You were initiating the move that got you caught...concentrate on WHAT got you caught.... Look at those shoots you made on both those guys and EXACTLY what happen... Remember you were the aggressor...In both shoots concentrate what got you caught...overall I thought you were wrestling the better match till you got caught...Its a fine line between you and national championship ... Your that close....
