I'm so stunned. Ive been present on 3 live births to support friends and it honestly shocks me that you were left alone birthing for so long. Especially on baby #3. I am honestly just baffled. I am so thankful that everything worked out and you had options. Praise God for that.

I love how genuine you are ❤ I had my first 6 months ago and the first few months I felt like a completely different person in the best and worst ways. PPD is so scary and hard to navigate as a new mom. Very glad this time around has been much more peaceful and redemptive for you! Congratulations on your sweet little boy ❤️

I am so happy it all ended well for you! Both of our kids were born at Goshen Birth Center with midwives. After I had our first, I hemmoraged and my midwife Rachel gave me something to slow it down but once i got home it was really bad and it made the first few weeks awful to the point I had to have help showering and walking bc I felt like I would pass out. She made note of it and with my second they gave me something to keep me from having the same problem and it was night and day with their recoveries! The midwives can truly make the experience! I am so sorry to hear how hard you had to work while in labor to get someone to you to help but happy to hear it worked out in the end.

I’d love for you to do a video on postpartum depression/anxiety and the counseling you received. I experienced that with 3 of my 4 postpartum and experienced severe post weaning depression and anxiety with my youngest. I also had a counselor that was very helpful during that time. It happens to so many women, yet we feel so alone while we’re going through it.

Going from 0 to 1 baby was the absolute hardest. When our daughter was 2.5, we had a set of fraternal twins, 1 to 3 was SO much better than expected, despite zero external help other than my husband that works outside of the home.

Your positive attitude in spite of a difficult labor (midwife issue) is to be commended. However shame on the midwife not taking a multipara seriously. Sure hope they learn from this. Thankfully it all turned out perfect but it could have went otherwise. I'm sure your primary midwife wasn't happy about you having to call for other help. Happy that she ( other midwife) was available and had pitocin to manage the bleeding. Congrats to you and your family.

I wanted to ask and was reluctant but here goes... if this is out of line please disregard and I don't want the negative Nancy's to hang me for asking. A long while back you mentioned you were adopted and had no idea of circumstances or didn't want to share. Do you think in the future you will touch on adoption for others considering or from your personal experience now that your a mother with several littles.

I’m disappointed in the home birth experience I had. I love having it home than in the hospital. Every birth I have had someone on the birth team not take me seriously and it makes me stressed out which I think is a big reason for my hemorrhaging. Also my last birth the midwife said given my history she would treat me before giving birth to help the bleeding. I have had 5 births. Two home birth, two natural hospital, and one c-section. It’s so frustrating when I’m in labor and there is that one person that doesn’t take me seriously. I’m glad you found one to come out. You might want to consider having your home birth midwife start an Iv with pit before you push to prevent the bleeding. My third I was on pit before he was born and that is the only birth I didn’t hemorrhage. It happens so quickly. I have always felt it took me three months to recover from the blood loss and taking care of littles. I still prefer being home for my birth I just wish that midwives would trust the patient more.

The hospital didn’t give me any and I lost a liter in surgery and that wasn’t figuring in the blood I lost from the time I started hemorrhaging till I got to the hospital which was an hour before I was in surgery. They did watch my levels and said if it went down one point they would have given one. I think it takes a significant amount before they do a transfusion.

Honestly that initial midwife was neglectful, why would you take on a birth you KNOW you can't attend to, because you'll be on vacation? And expecting another midwife you know to pick up your slack, and they can't, because they run their own midwifery business. I also bleed after my deliveries(birthing center and homebirth), it's just shocking that they'd chance you bleeding out because they don't want to call in a third midwife to get there. Im so sorry

It’s very common for a midwife to have a vacation or sebatical planned way in advance and their clients are always made aware of the possibility that they will not attend a birth. I definitely agree that the midwife on call was neglectful though!

This isn't directly related to your new baby but it kind of is overall - I remember you saying in a video a while back that you were adopted. I get the sense that your adoption was a very positive thing but is there any part of that experience that changed or impacted your own journey to and in motherhood?

I worked in Daycare for over 30 years. I do not believe in sleep training. So many moms start sleep training far to early. Many moms get their infants into a routine and stay with it. Unless there is a health reason not to. Infants feeding needs are all different depending on nutrition requirements. And if your baby is premature that is another ballgame. Not meaning to be rude or anything I'm just saying.

Girl, you are downplaying this story and being EXTREMELY generous to the midwive(s). A liter of blood is not insignificant. While blood volume can change depending on sex, weight, age, and pregnancy status usually females only have about 4.5L of blood TOTAL in their body. Thank God you are ok!
