I practiced for several years first with a wooden pole as a straight sword then got comfortable with practicing with a real straight sword which was potentially self injuring being that I was teaching myself. Making mistakes were potentially costly to say the least at the point when I felt it was ready for practicing with a real sword. It's been awhile but seeing your videos makes me want to get back into it all

I tend to plant myself in one spot and do little foot work, which i feel makes my routine rather boring. And I often spin in front of me instead of off to the sides, which increases the need to sway my arms (to avoid hitting the body.. especially on rf8) and slows down the look of the flow. I will try to incorporate these tips to see how the look and feel of the flow improves. Good tips and nice video, Michelle

Could learning some basic dance technique and choreography help with connecting moves and creating fluidity? It's been a long time since I've taken dance classes but I've found that I have been relearning and leveraging those skills as I practice staff spinning. What do you guys think?
