Now that we (Scouting America) no longer have a US Congress charter, are we allow to perform full US flags retirement ceremonies? I understand that BSA is allowed to conduct flag retirement ceremonies per US Congress charter, Scouting America is not.

This a opportunity lost, should have broadcast Roger Krone's discussion instead. History of the organization is important and a story that should be told, like BP's sister was key to starting a youth program for girls, the cooperation with Campfire Girls (started be BSA's founders wives) since 1910s, women leaders have been around since 1930's, Coed Explorers and Coed camp staff being a thing for over 50 years, and Scouting/USA was the branding in the late 1970s, etc, etc. Whoever is running the PR on this rollout, isn't doing a outstanding job. Again, opportunity lost.

Why not just starting calling ScoutBSA troops a "Scouting America Troop" so you remove the "boy" of the troop designation?

Scouting USA was a better sounding name...... Scouting/USA was a "communicative name" chosen by the Boy Scouts of America in 1976 in an effort to rebrand itself.[1][2] The Scouting/USA symbol was unveiled at its biennial National Council meeting.[3] The organization retained the name Boy Scouts of America as its legal name, but planned to use the new name on literature, billboards, insignia, business cards and stationery and for most other promotional material.[1] They quietly abandoned this effort by 1980 and the printing of the ninth edition of the Boy Scout Handbook.[4]

Look online what phrase "SA" commonly stands for, and you’ll quickly understand why Scouting America isn’t eager to get in that mix. "Scouting America " it is!
