Most Christians don’t know THIS about the tower of Babel. In this presentation, Bodie Hodge shares how the secular worldview has led many people to deny what the Bible says about the tower of Babel and emphasizes the tremendous evidence supporting this biblical account.

Darwin’s wife was a faithful woman that prayed for Charles all through their marriage. He did accept Jesus at the end of his life. He was concerned his teachings might lead people astray. I love kindly telling my atheist friends this.

A. Darwin never said this. B. No one would care if he said this. He could have said in his death bed that he now worshipped kthulu and believed that the moon was made of cheese and it would do literally nothing to uproot any evidence of evolution. He isn't the lynchpin of evolution, there's so much evidence for it, we have a hard time categorizing it. He was just a guy with a good idea that turned out to be correct.

@@msquiggle3590 Darwin was actually trying to do away with belief in a Creator God, and he wrote so. His wife knew his efforts at passing on a more detailed explanation of a very old falsehood was anti-biblical. And if Darwin became a believer in God last minute doesn't disprove his theory but the evidence does. Evidence that you say proves it right you did not type out, but that's okay.

I love how Christians think Darwin himself is the foundation upon which Evolutionary theory rests. It is not. He was just one of the early, main proponents of a basic, limited version of the theory. Evolutionary theory stands upon a foundation of evidence, not the historical status of its advocates. It is Christians who base their whole worldview on the status of its advocates (Jesus and Paul). Why do Christians always try to make Evolution appear like their own religion as a means of discrediting it? Ironic, to say the least.

Everyone thinks I'm blind, deluded and stupid because I don't believe in evolution or a millions/billions years worldview. They all ask why I would believe in a fairytale. I tell them because it makes the most logical sense. I've been secluded from family and friends for it. To the point that I'm walking alone in 2024. The thing that amazes me is how upset they are.I wasn't ready for the anger part. I try to tell them it's ok that you think I'm crazy for believing the Bible. But the anger part is just something I'm wasn't ready for. Is there anyone experiencing anything like this?

It's the internet, so I can be blunt for some reason. Your family and "friends" sound like a clut. Be glad you're not in it. That said; you do get to choose your friends. I pray you find yours. Keep in mind most people can count true friends on one hand and only hurt people hurt people so keep an eye out for that. God bless and stay strong. Edit: Don't be afraid to stick up for yourself. But remember that people who get made at your thoughts are a waste of time and energy. Best to just move on. They're not your friends if they can't not get angry in your presence because of the things in your head. That's like some type of brain bigotry. Racists of the mind if you will.

Yep, "God's word". 🙄 --------------------------------------------------------- *The Enuma Elish would later be the inspiration for the Hebrew scribes who created the text now known as the biblical Book of Genesis.* Prior to the 19th century CE, the Bible was considered the oldest book in the world and its narratives were thought to be completely original. In the mid-19th century CE, however, European museums, as well as academic and religious institutions, sponsored excavations in Mesopotamia to find physical evidence for historical corroboration of the stories in the Bible. ***These excavations found quite the opposite, however, in that, once cuneiform was translated, it was understood that a number of biblical narratives were Mesopotamian in origin.*** *Famous stories such as the Fall of Man and the Great Flood were originally conceived and written down in Sumer,* translated and modified later in Babylon, and reworked by the Assyrians ***before they were used by the Hebrew scribes for the versions which appear in the Bible.*** ***In revising the Mesopotamian creation story for their own ends, the Hebrew scribes tightened the narrative and the focus but retained the concept of the all-powerful deity who brings order from chaos.*** Marduk, in the Enuma Elish, establishes the recognizable order of the world - *just as God does in the Genesis tale* - and human beings are expected to recognize this great gift and honor the deity through service. *"Enuma Elish - The Babylonian Epic of Creation - Full Text - World History Encyclopedia"* *"Sumerian Is the World's Oldest Written Language | ProLingo"* *"Sumerian Civilization: Inventing the Future - World History Encyclopedia"* ("The Sumerians were the people of southern Mesopotamia whose civilization flourished between c. 4100-1750 BCE." From a Biblical scholar: "Many stories in the ancient world have their origins in other stories and were borrowed and modified from other or earlier peoples. *For instance, many of the stories now preserved in the Bible are* ***modified*** *versions of stories that existed in the cultures and traditions of Israel’s* ***older*** *contemporaries.* Stories about the creation of the universe, a cataclysmic universal flood, digging wells as land markers, the naming of important cultic sites, gods giving laws to their people, and even stories about gods decreeing the possession of land to their people were all part of the cultural and literary matrix of the ancient Near East. *Biblical scribes freely* ***adopted and modified*** *these stories as a means to express their own identity, origins, and customs."* *"Stories from the Bible"* by Dr Steven DiMattei, from his website *"Biblical Contradictions"* ------------------------------------------------------------------ In addition, look up the below articles. *"Yahweh was just an ancient Canaanite god. Was His defeat of Lucifer (Hell) and the liberation of many in Hell, after the crucifixion; the actual Atonement action that addressed the sin of the Fall and opened the way for the faithful to get past the Accuser and return to Father?

It's also notable that in Hosea and other books it tells how a day for God is like a thousand years for man, so while creating the world before man existed who can say how long the first 5 'days' were. But even the 'evolutionary' record matches the appearance of species in Genesis. And those who wrote Genesis didn't have communications, carbon- dating, or archeological tools that we do, so that would make them really good 'guessers' without the Word being the Truth.

Well, how do you define a day nowadays, and how does the word day used in context of the Bible generally supposed to be interpreted? That is what he discusses in the video. If there was death before the original sin, then it would make God a liar. Are you calling God a liar?
@user-oo5be4xs4w
@user-oo5be4xs4w 21 күн бұрын
@CDub-w9g just the opposite, and I'm only talking about the days of creation before man, where it may be a matter of God's time. I'm saying the 'evolutionary' record doesn't conflict with, and does NOT in any way disprove, Genesis.

@peregrinegrace8570 you don't seem to get I'm agreeing: the point that in full context, the Bible suggests "day", "morning", etc, can have different meanings to an eternal God, such that the theory of evolution DOESN'T disprove scripture. I agree that evolution from one species to another is a lie (outside of the adaption within a single species), and was pointing out that even the theory of evolution follows the same timeline as Genesis, which was written long before anyone had any sort of "scientific evidence".

Praise Jesus! There is also some interesting information in the Book of Jasher about the tower of babel, among other things. That supposedly, it was so tall, that people who started at the bottom to bring up more materials to continue the build, it took them a year to make it up; and that when God destroyed it, it was in thirds: the bottom third was swallowed up by the earth, another third was burned with fire, and the last third is left to this day, with its circumference being a three day's walk! The Book of Jasher is worth a read, since it is mentioned in the Bible twice by name and quoted as well, found in these verses: Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18, 2 Timothy 3:8 Jesus is coming soon!

Jasher names the exodus pharaoh. And it significantly falls outside of the timeline of the contenders for the exodus pharaoh proposed by most scholars and christians: the key is in the reign of his father "malul"(?), reigned from age 6 to 100, a 94 year reign... Only one monarch has ever been a recorded with a reign that long and it just so happens to be an Egyptian pharaoh: a reign of exactly 94 years from 6-100 and that is Pepi II. The time difference of Abraham being in egypt and Moses returning to egypt is within the fitting timeline of "Djoser"(pharoah of the famine Stella) and Pepi II... Djoser would have fit more well with Joseph, as pharoahs dream had the famine and cows etc. but Abraham also went to Egypt during famine so it's not outside the worth of consideration... Take all this into account that the 94 year reign, which is greatly argued against by many current academics and egyptologists, was scribed down by Monetho: and Monetho identifies the exodus pharaoh as someone else entirely. 🃏

@@NINJA_INVESTORS Good question. I view the word culture as an interpretation of society, tradition, custom, what's done in a community. People use the word culture generically. I view throughout the entire world only 3 cultures and those three cultures interpret how we run our societies or our traditions. 1. Individualist culture This culture believes, freedom is being alone to visit a location/place anytime they want. They may not even know their neighbor, and if a neighbor is neighborly the individualist culture interpret that as offensive. 2. Family orientated culture This culture beliefs, they must be part of a group, example law enforcement officer will normally give courtesy the road to another officer. But will hold somebody accountable from an individualistic culture. 3. Community based cultur This culture believes, freedom comes from being part of a community at large. They feel comfortable when a neighbor watches their home. They expect a neighbor to invite them for a cup of coffee, only then they feel accepted. These three cultures are how society, traditions and customs are interpreted.

I would like to see a discussion between AIG (Mr Hodges) and Dr. Douglas Petrovich regarding the probable location of the tower or Babel. His studies seem to show conclusive evidence that it was located further south at the site of Eridu. According to Dr. Petrovich of the seven or eight "cities of Babel" only Eridu fits all of the Biblical criteria. While the exact location does not discount the history of the event, could a consensus be reached on the actual location? I would like to add that I enjoy the teachings and respect both gentlemen, so this is not a "I like him better" question, just seeking more accurate knowledge.

Alexander the Great had the foundations that remained of the destroyed temple removed as, he planned to rebuild the Tower before his untimely death in Babylon (as written in Josephus). All that remains is the footprint which cannot be excavated because of a high water table. There are many temples dotted throughout Iraq.

This was very good. Thankyou for posting it! ❤ Why did no one scatter to the Western Hemisphere? There is one account that can answer that question: Did you know that there is a record of a group of people, in the same timeframe (about 2300 BC)and righteous leader, that prayed to God at the time of the great Tower, that their language would not be confounded. So that they might be able to understand their family and friends so that they could stay together. The Lord answered this righteous man's prayer & promised him & his people that He would lead them to a "land of promise." The Lord did lead them to the Western Hemisphere and told them that as long as they worshipped the God of the land, Jesus Christ, that they would always be a free people and would prosper. It is truly an amazing account and worth the time to read & study. This righteous leader actually got to see Jehovah in His pre-mortal state (Jehovah's) It is found in the Book of Ether in the Book of Mormon. There were many migrations to the West at different times from different areas. The Book of Mormon tells of some of them. ❤❤❤

@alantasman8273 I'm not saying I interpret everything correctly, but I don't think this is referring to the time to build the arc. "My Spirit will not dwell in man for eternity because he is flesh and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.”

@@Chris-rf8is I used to think the same thing...but after studying the verse in context, Genesis 6:3 Kjv And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. When put in context of the evil of man, these 120 years are a countdown to the Flood. In other words, mankind’s violence had reached its peak and God declared that 120 years was the “drop dead” date for mankind who is a mortal being

Almost all people are related to Abraham. Using generations you can compute the time for the most recent common ancestor of different regions of the world. All people of European descent have Charlemagne as a common ancestor. All people with ties to the Middle East, which is most Africans, Europeans, Asians are probably related to someone like King David; pretty much the only exceptions are some South American native tribes and some island tribes in Polynesia, because everyone else separated who isolated themselves much later. It's a nice fact to know that pretty much everyone today has Abraham as an actual ancestor.

How exactly do you get 100 billion people from one guy who lived 4000 years ago?
@litigioussociety4249
@litigioussociety4249 25 күн бұрын
@@msquiggle3590 There are only 7-8 billion people in the world. The question Inwas answering is most recent common ancestor. Abraham would appear on the family tree of over 99 percent of the people in the world. As for population, any model would show it takes less than 4000 years to get to the current population even starting with 2. Even using your number of 100 billion that is equal to less than 2^37. (By the way, the sum of everything from 2^1 to 2^36 equals 2^37, if your wanting the population of dead and alive.) There have been many more than 37 generations of people where the population doubled in the last four thousand years averaging four children that lived to sexual maturity for each couple. Even 100 generations is being extremely conservative, since the time to have four surviving kids (maybe eight kids total) would usually happen before a woman is 40 through most of history. Even assuming there were only 3 kids replacing every 2 adults in a generation only takes 57 generations to reach today's population, which is a ridiculously conservative growth rate.

@@nigeltremain1900 No. Noah is the father of everyone including those isolated tribes, but I was pointing out that even Abraham is related to almost everyone, which is a nice little fact given the song "Father Abraham" being about him as a spiritual father. Even the Apostles that had children are ancestors of almost everyone. However, that would not include Japan, the Americas, and other similarly isolates areas that people sailed to or reached before then. There are Y chromosome maps that show all the most recent ancestors, which is why we know most of the Native Americans are much more recently related to Eurasians, the last wave of them (not including the Eskimos) being around 1000 BC.
