This is actually great! I am learning ANSYS for my own pleasure and I am using the 18.2 version. I do not have any books for it and did not know where to start, so I looked it up here on KZfaq and stumbled on this video. This is just what I needed. Thank you so very much! Sir, your video is very helpful and informative. Thank you very much for this. I am a beginner in ANSYS and having great trouble in extracting mass and stiffness matrices from ANSYS workbench to MATLAB. I need to use a reduced order modelling technique to reproduce the results using the FE model generated in ANSYS workbench. If you make a video on that it would be very helpful for everyone.

+prashant mali hi thanks for your comment. You can try to use the convergence tool so that ansys will automatically refine the mesh for you to converge the results. A video on a bolted connection is very interested for me to show as well, I will put it on my list. In the meantime, I prepared a simple example for you in ANSYS v.15. I hope with this you can have a look at how I prepared it, such as the geometry, connections, mesh, etc. and that it will help you in the meantime untill I post a video. Thanks again. I want to simulate a Concrete Cylindrical test (simple axial compressional test) to determine the Concrete element resistance and find under which load it will fail. I want to change in each test the type of concrete (f'c) so I can determine using ANSYS the resistance of each cylinder with specific material properties. Other way to see what I want to do is to recreate a triaxial test to get the UCS from different rocks. How can do this? Can you share some ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!!! Marcel.

Thanks for the great videos. How would I cover this in 1D with point loads as well as UDL?
@drdalyo
@drdalyo 8 жыл бұрын
+TylerIn2D Hey thats a good question. Not sure if i completely understood, but basically you can simplify this to a line body. so in geometry modeler, create a line, then convert to line body, then create a section for that body and apply it. in Mechanical, you can then apply line load. if you want to apply the load as specific point, you would need to split the line in your geometry, or use Nodal Load which i think is an option... dont remember. I should probably make a video on this..
