DC created GO GO music which put us on the map musically but GOGO music only went so far. Memphis, Atlanta, New York, California all have their own sound. DC never had a rap scene so we can't expect Wale to create a sound and put the whole city on his back. Wale did his part by bringing light to where he claims he from and it's your job to grind and make the most of the attention just like Fat Trel and Shy Glizzy did. It’s a difference between putting someone on and complaining about getting put on. 1. The current crop of DMV rappers with deals, Not under Wale’s umbrella. 2. The bulk of the artists that were associated with Board of Administration didn’t blown up per se. Trel got his, but did a lot of grinding after he left BOA. 3. There are other DMV Rappers with deals. Ade, Goldlink, Logic, Rico Nasty, Oddisee… They just aren’t in the trap space. What Ant is saying is, Wale’s 10+ year run hasn’t been filled with a flood of rappers after him.
