It's like sitting in a car, fastening multiple seatbelts (confirming dates), driving it a little, (showing off Peach) then just... the interior falls away and you realize you're in a luxury vehicle. idk if we deserve it, but I ain't about to turn it tf down!

I've never played a game from this series, but my personal life is pretty rough right now and it truly brings my heart joy seeing everyone's happy reactions about this. I'll definitely be giving it a go when it releases!

Not only is the gameplay good, but the story and characters are really fun to immerse yourself into. Each character has their own likable and dislikable personalities that make the game more relatable even though it's cartoonish. Some plot twists are also crazy.

Honestly, I think you should give them an try. If you like RPG'S and/or Mario games and u want more depth into the franchise, start with the Paper Mario games. Specifically the first 2 Paper Mario games; Paper Mario 64 & The Thousand Year Door. There both great.

Avoid Sticker Star and it's sequels, I recommend trying Paper Mario 64 on Switch to get a sense of what this remaster will be like. It holds up very well and is just as good as TTYD in my opinion.

@@maybetobyThe trick to the final boss is to put all of the sidekicks in FRONT of you & use them as meat shields. Beyond that, stock up on the green mushrooms as you get them throughout the game, and be sure to cook them. If you have to look up recipes, do it for sure. GOOD LUCK!

That's why I enjoyed it. Because this was legitimate actual happiness going on and not obnoxious screaming for the sake of appearing on a highlight reel on someone else's channel. He's what this remake was made for--the ones who grew with it.

Definitely going to buy it. I've _seen_ people play Thousand Year Door, but I haven't actually played it myself. The only Paper Mario that I played was Super Paper Mario for the Wii.

Super Paper Mario was great for what it was, but it was a very different experience than Thousand-Year Door & people usually have a hard time looking past that. The Wii was backwards compatible with the GameCube, so you could have tried it then... but that's irrelevant information now, considering how much $$$ a copy goes for on eBay. Might as well wait for the remaster. Not that I'll ever sell my old copy, of course!

Super has an great story. But gameplay wise, it's really an mixed bag. I think the first 2 Paper Mario games are superior games and I recommend them if u want an better gameplay.

Super Paper Mario was pretty great. A lot of people hate that game because it wasn't an RPG, but for what it was, I liked it a lot. Be warned! Thousand-Year Door is one of THOSE rpg's. By that, I mean it's LONG. It took me a solid week just to get to the end when I was a kid. Literally, a chapter per day. And that was when I was a kid & had the free time. As an adult, I've blasted through the game in maybe 3-4 days, but that was upon revisiting a game I knew by heart. In a nutshell, what I'm saying is, set aside some time to play Paper Mario when it releases, is all.

i honestly never thought they would remake TTYD OVER the original one, it just goes to show they have heard our cries and that we want more Paper Mario games like this one... anyone reading this who has played the more recent games but not TTYD better buy it to see how much better it is than all the other ones

The N64 game is already on Switch online though and they know gamers will pay lots of remakes and remasters of games starting from the GameCube era and forward so there was sadly no point to remake the first game.

We got alot of Mario RPG'S on the Switch right now. There's the Mario + Rabbids games, Paper Mario 64 on Online, an Super Mario RPG Remake & now Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The Switch is almost at full of Mario RPG'S. The only things missing is the Mario & Luigi game.

As someone who's played through the original more times than I can count, I'm super happy that more people will get to experience this game for the first time. I swear, Nintendo NEEDS to release the soundtrack this time, I'm tired of the unofficial uploads getting stomped and leaving a hole in my favorites.

Honestly 64 probably was the one who needed the remake treatment a bit more... But hot dang am I lying if I said this wasn't the absolute best announcement in a while. I like keeping myself objective but when he said the direct went from mid to 10/10, I agree. That's how powerful this game is. Without being exaggerated and nostalgic about it, I would say this is one of the Mario masterpieces. Everyone needs to play this. It's fun, it's witty, it's deep mechanically... did I mention it's fun? Because it's so freaking fun, not just as a game but as a story too, the dialog is so good.

As much as I wanted an Paper Mario 64 remake to happen and get an same treatment as TTYD is getting, I understand why they decided to do that because the original Paper Mario 64 has been re-released on Virtual Consoles and now on Switch Online. So at least we get to play them at any points.

I can understand a Mario rpg remake but thousand year door still looks great due to its art style in less they add new content why not just play the original.

some people can’t access the original, either due to not having a gamecube or not wanting to emulate. tbh yeah ttyd does still look good but this looks phenomenal in comparison, even if PM64 deserved the upgrade a tad more.

@andrewvanover9747 I get that hell I plan on getting remake myself despite owning the original version. It's just that Nintendo has made it very clear that they see the gamecube and wii emulator dolphin as a threat to their business, so if they were willing to go through the effort of remaking one of their games apposed to just upscaleing the original why not add new content that way people who use dolphin and people who own the original have more of a reason to get the remake.

Im gonna be honest its cool that its coming to the switch but for me personally its an eh. If its just a port like skyward sword and nothing new then I have no interest. If I wanted to play thousand year door id load it up in my gamecube. If its a remake like mario rpg is then thats different. Regardless im glad to see that mario rpgs arent dead.

First did you SEE the trailer, it's a full on remake that looks amazing, second not everyone has a copy of the og game or wants to emulate it, me and tons of other fans wanted a ttyd remake, and we're finally getting it, if you don't want it, them just let people who do want it have it without questioning it

The fans have been asking for a ttyd remake for a while, Nintendo is giving the fans what they wanted. Also you expected Nintendo to reveal a new console already? They probably still working on it and are planning to reveal it when the console is ready.
