If Cthulhu was an actual vanilla subnautica creature, I don’t think I’d even play the game

the kraken mod is cool, but to be honest the garg will always have a soft spot in my heart, i personally think return of the ancients is the coolest mod ive ever seen in a game.

I think the mod creator will have Cthulhu rise out of the waves as an ending cutscene while you leave, like maybe the precursors lock away Cthulhu and while shutting down the cannon it also releases Cthulhu.

I just noticed that the voice says “Estimated depth: 999999-“ then breaks and shuts off whenever you get near the giant tentacles. A lot of attention to detail 😁

I feel when they're that big they lose their scare factor. Like the gargantuan is so absurdly big that he clips through often breaking your immersion. In the base game enemies are big, but don't feel that large due to perspective making them feel more grounded.

Yes!!! This is what I was wanting!! One of the things that I find a bit annoying is showing stuff but not going further into it. I enjoy the initial wonder and mystery, but I want to see everything.

The ONLY thing that disappoints me about these spoilers, is that its not Cthulu that's pulling you in from the void, but on that same vein, I'm completely OK with that. Cause honestly, he probably wouldn't be a threat directly until you found him IN the void. HERE'S THE CRAZY THING THOUGH! It doesn't actually even NEED to BE Cthulu, It can operate fundamentally the same, but could be an entirely new eldritch abomination, inspired by the various terrifying creatures of Subnautica. For example, imagine a creature that's see through like the Ghost Leviathan, but has the Dragon levithan's face, with the Reaper's grabbing things in a star pattern around the mouth. The lower body could be like the warpers, and the core of its body could be like a serpent -esque, but bulkier at sections where extremities begin to come out like arms and tentacles. Hell, you could even make it green hued like the Karar to imply its the true source of the disease. That'd be neat as hell.

If you head into the second degasi base in the jellyshroom caves, if you go outside of the base and see a small glow, that will lead you to a PDA of Marguerite Maida called "Speak Freely". If this is a reason to go back to Subnautica (without mods), then I don't know what is.

They should give Cthulhu a sarlacc pit like mouth with rows and rows of teeth confusing and horrific to add to the fear once it drags you down to eat you because having a beak isn't that scary being eaten by millions and millions rows of teeth in a pit shape that's horrific

the garg jumping out of the ocean is freaknig amazing, that intro gave me chills with that music like god damn, i assume the idea is to have it jump through the ship as it explodes or something? to like make it so the garg destroys the sunbeam, but the jump on its own is super cool

One of my favorite things about this is when the tentacles grab the ship, the voice says "9999" depth, and sounds like it was going to keep saying 9 for a second, just implying the absolute SIZE of that lad, which lets you imagine how massive it really is.

Man I really hope Subnautica games become the ultimate modding sandbox, this is too cool.
