I am learning how to say "Iranian" , the modern term that I hear them using always. The term "Persian" they reserve for speaking within historical contexts. So that's me doing that juxtaposition of terminology . I ain't trying to tell you to do that.

Unfortunately i as a 20 year old iranian born and bred here, would much rather use the term "culturally lost" or "identity confused" instead of developed. Although i would argue iranian culture us the richest of the world, but the people in recent generation are gradually losing their identity for more alien, less developed culture of the west. Praised left and right as "the good culture" by the media controlled by them selves, this self/wrongfully proclaimed good or better culture is one of the more materialistic ones with short term goals of temporary pleasure instead of long term discipline, has started to lurk inside the youth of my ancient country. Devouring their minds and undermining their own rich traditions.

Iran is a beautiful country. I love Iran so much. There is no place like it in the world. I have been there 2 times in 2013 with a total time of 3 months. Iran has a magic a feeling about it. Trying to come up with a way to speak this feeling in words has been a challenge for me. But its a wonderful feeling. The food and the people are each amazing. I love the crunchy brown crust that comes with that rice. I could go on and on about beautiful Iran but I will finish now. Good work Anthony..

Iranian food is amazing! I loved being invited to my friend's house for dinner growing up. His mom, aunt, even grandmother all very busy in the kitchen! Everything is cooked with love and care. The different foods on the table have a wide range of flavors; they cross the spectrum of your taste buds! And their desserts are also fabulous- especially rice pudding! I am so happy I can watch this video over and over again! Now all I have to do is find a good Iranian restaurant here in the Washington area!

I am a guy who grew up in Texas with wonderful, loving Iranian neighbors and as a result I am fascinated with anything Persian. Iran has been at the top of my travel list for some time and I really would love to go there but I do wonder what kind of barriers my nationality and race (I'm white) would present if I am lucky enough to visit the country inshallah. Iranians have assured me that it would be fine, and I'm sure it would, but I still hope one day that the US and Iran become better friends than they are now so that I can go there with the same mindset as going somewhere like Italy or Australia.

Forget about diplomatic problems. You can go there right now. Actually Iranian goverment welcomes Americans who want to experience Iran in person and they usually issue visa for them, though the official process is time consuming. Simply google it and your can find many Americans visited Iran and saying that being an american is actually a privilege for the turists in Iran rather than a barrier!

I helped this young Iranian woman. She thought she was having a heart attack and asked for my help. Fortunately, for her she was not having one but I knew what she was suffering from and I told her husband when you go to the hospital tell the drs that she is having anxiety attacks. Well they came back sometime later and they thought I was some kind of miracle worker. After that she came by with baked goods, etc., which were delicious. I did not want anything in return. UPDATE: After Mahsa Amini's incident and the brutal behavior of the regime, they no longer earn my support. FROM AN IRANIAN(Persian) NO government in the world is perfect. In fact you can find all sorts of corruptions and racism among any nation in East and West. UK, US, etc all have these issues. Therefore, I don't consider Iranian government a perfect one as well. However, I do support them for standing for our rights in front of all oppressors of the world. We have a great independent defense system. Especially our independent technology is admirable. 73% of our university scholars are women. So I have enough to be proud of my current government and country. Just look at our standing point and power in all these nuc negotiations and middle-eastern conflicts. It's honorable.

Iranian government has never represented the view of majority of its citizens in any important cultural, social, and political subject; so, I can say it’s never been an “Iranian” government in the way other nations have governments that represent them. More precisely this government is nothing more than a cult that has tapped into Iran’s oil and gas resources, that has made everyone of it’s members extremely rich, and has taken hostage a great nation.

There problem is that there is "saffron" and there is "saffron". Iranian Saffron is great, Kashmir Saffron is ok, Spanish Saffron is just incredible (also absurdly expensive outside Spain). Saffron is one of those spices that you need extremely little of for tons of flavor. It's pricier than cocaine and you literally only need 2-3 strands for a whole meal.

As a Persian-American who has been to Iran before, it's amazing to see how much visitors like Anthony enjoyed seeing the country as a beautiful place with warm and welcoming people, food, and culture. Government aside, this is a place you want to visit because it combines the old with the new in a way that you can only appreciate and throw yourself into.

The problem is not Iranian people, majority are peace loving social human being, the problem arises from a Theocracy loving Mullahs and their goons. People of Ira never had any clash with any civilization but We as Iranians have to overthrow the mullahs and make changes.

Everything here looks so far above what I am used to! They speak more than one language, they are all dressed up so nice, they are polite, the food has spices many of us in USA have not ever tasted, besides afford. I am sure this group of people have money, but what a fabulous culture and place to live.

@karansarat

+satellite964 Yeah, but Iranians and Indians ain't white. They are brown to light brown. My grandpa is from Iran, and he's dark brown. So don't absorb European culture into the Middle East and South Asia please
@satellite964
@satellite964 8 жыл бұрын
+karansarat Who said anything about culture or being white? I said I like women from the Mediterranean and South Americans and Indian with Mediterranean heritage, and if you knew basic history, my boy, then you would know there are a lot of people in South America and India with Mediterranean roots. TL;DR- You basically misunderstood what I said before. And FIY Caterina Murino(who's Italian) is browner than a lot of Iranians since you are so much hung up on that.

AsianIndianCanuck speak for yourself. Iranians are genetically *Caucasian* (just google it please) and southern Iranians with dark complexions are exotic looking even for Iranians (they are called _Sabzé_). Just because your daddy is a dark skinned _sabzé_ doesn't mean that all Iranians look like him.
@marmary5555
@marmary5555 7 жыл бұрын
AsianIndianCanuck on a side note, people from Gilan and Mazandaran are *definitely NOT* - what did you say _light brown to dark brown_ ! *Iranian people as a whole and generally do not solely look like your daddy. They can be white as snow and blond as Swedes or dark as Indians or Gulf Arabs. But most are Mediterranean looking like most people in Caucasus and Western Asia*
@satellite964
@satellite964 7 жыл бұрын
Well to be fair just because someone is blonde and has white skin doesn't make them attractive. I'd take a dark skinned Mediterranean girl with thick dark hair and beautiful eyes over say a pale white Polish blond with thin wiry hair any day.

***** okay...i'll explain you a bit more now.....whilst hanging around with this girl....whilst her real life was hidden from me along with the distance of 25 miles there was no way I could learn about her real motives with me, in one year I lived life so fast meeting up every weekend going to clubs meal friends also going into the Iranian community of club going mid 25-30 years olds I have seen very odd repetitive behaviour amongst the Iranian couples in ways that real westerners wouldn't do such as picking up their girlfriends and putting them on drinks bar and telling them to dance in their mini skirts, I also learnt that within the Iranian women lifestyle it is ripe with having an real partner such as husband and a boyfriend on the side behind closed doors which is what I was! but this secret of hers only lasted about a year when I managed to find out which was openly then admitted by on her side is the way Iranian women see it in form of fashion! and nearly all of them are money and material oriented....so my message here for men that are thinking of a relationship with an Iranian girl you better think twice and look for the obvious clues which I missed!
@cetGT3

From what I have seen with my own eyes it is real practice, I can prove most of my point regards to this girl by a picture/vid uploaded by her on Y.Tube and her long time boyfriend and an latest pic of myself with her...along with a facebook profile of her boyfriend with her still! now this is a bit extreme but it is very true!
