Yes, Heather it is. I thought Jess did very well with the song and her singing of course. Not too sure on the staging or her dance moves though. Competition pretty stiff on those counts. The odds haven’t been with her, so l’m hoping for top ten at least

Yes, I saw the result. A bit shocked really. I thought top ten at least. I gather the honeymoon is well and truly over for Australia at Eurovision. There was no love from Europeans for our presence and this played out for poor Jess. That said, I thought the song mediocre and the dance moves .... Needs a real team to work on staging, and do it properly IMO

Just read in Anthony’s memoir that he was chosen to do Eurovision in 2018, and then Sony dumped him for Jessica. That was a revelation to me

@@edmundpower1250 its actually Liverpool FC's anthem they started singing it after this was a hit in 1963. It was never so more poignant than after the Hillsboriugh disaster when Liverpool fans were killed in the crush.

@@vanessasteels40 it's actually from a movie called Carosel before it was a hit.. And it's also an anthem for Celtic and Borussia Dortmund among about 6 other teams

@@edmundpower1250 yep it was written by Rodgers & Hammerstein for the musical. Gerry & The Pacemakers had a hit with it in 1963 they were from Liverpool and that's when Liverpool FC adopted it as their anthem.

@@vanessasteels40 believe it or not Dortmund had it first and when Liverpool fans heard the Dortmund fans singing it during and after the 1966 Cup Winners Cup final v Liverpool they adopted it but like it or not its originally Borussia Dortmund anthem and not liverpools

I believe that it is SBS Eurovision who makes the decision, possibly with input from the record companies. But (as far as I know) they haven't chosen the 2018 entrant yet. Artists like Anthony can only express interest, but cannot influence the choice.

Yes. Agreed. I thought Isaiah this year was pretty lame at Eurovision. He lacks Anthony's dynamic voice and stage presence in my view. Of course they may well go with a female this year. I heard 'Ellen Reed' being suggested, so I had a listen. Very sweet voice. Good singer. But again lacking dynamic and stage presence. I'd put her in the same category as Firebrace. It will be interesting to see who they nominate for next year.

Well it's Jessica Mauboy (again). It will be very interesting to see how she goes in 2018. Hopefully, Anthony will get his opportunity in 2019 (if we are still included)

My grandson and I have been so very lucky Grant to have seen Anthony perform live many times. There is no one as Anthony doing a live performance. We are going to five of his concerts next year. Saving up for them now. We're so excited. I would really really LOVE to see Anthony on Eurovision I truely think they would absolutely LOVE him. xo

They couldn't have gotten anyone better to do the Memoriam than Anthony he really did honour them. I loved Anthony singing Angels on Idol & would LOVE to listen to it again. I have heard that Anthony was going to bring out a DVD of his latest brilliant album ( I thought maybe after it was on Foxtel ( which I haven't got ) so I didn't see it on Foxtel but I don't know if is just a rumour or if its true. Yes. Anthony needs to sing these really big, powerful songs. Wish George Michael was still around to write a few for him. Love Anthony singing 'One more try' and 'Jesus to a child', also 'Too funky" for a lighter song

You are right that they also need a top song (for whoever performs). They need to concentrate on getting the best songwriters on board in my opinion. PS I would love Anthony to be selected to sing for Eurovision.
