Metadata Presets is another option I use. Once I have completed all the metadata for the first image, with one click I can complete the metadata for any image(s) I which to, whenever! Works well for locations I go back to often to shoot under different light.

Mnay years ago when I was programming. I was employed by one of the new utility companies to help develop their Call Centre Software. On my first day I went into the Call Centre to watch how they dealt with the calls and I notices how much the operators where leaving the keyboard to move the mouse. That afternoon I implemented a Keyboard Control that meant they didn't have to use the mouse The difference in processing the calls was amazing. a 10 minute call now took 3 minutes and the Main Programmer recond I had paid for my entire 13 week contract with that modification This is a great video Anthony

Didn't knew about the cmd + arrow key thing, thanks. :) btw wouldn't it be easier to just select the images first and than write the keywords (in the second tip)? because then you wouldn't need to sync and do extra clicks. Secondly the selection could also have been done quicker just by selecting the first image and than hold shift and click on the last picture. All other pictures would be automaticly selected than.

Something just happened to my lightroom two days ago. For over a year I could enter "Johnson City" as a keyword and Lightroom would show exactly what I typed on the screen. NOW, Lightroom is changing my entries. NOW I type Johnson City and Lightroom responds by putting "City, Johnson" on the screen.

Not sure why you would go through all this... why not just select all the images that you want to share the same keywords and when selected just enter the keywords, hit ENTER, and all images will have the same keywords. Done. No need to synch metadata.

I CMD-A (CTL-A on a PC) in the film-strip to select al, then sync. But most of the time I have a common "shoot" and add keywords on import as others here have said.

Can the tags be written to the JPG image itself, in case the catalog is lost? A good companion to this tutorial would include renaming the files to include something like the event or location. Ultimately, the file itself may be all we're left with at some point. Lightroom is great but the monthly option is getting less and less appealing to me. I finally terminated that contract and bought the download from Amazon for $150.

Anthony, I did as you said in the video. With the Keyword Panel highlighted I hit Cmd Right Arrow and Library went to the next photo, but the Keyword Panel turned dark, so I had to use my mouse to activate it. What would you suggest? Thanks. Harry

Your videos would be nicer to listen to if you could do something about your microphone. There are a lot of sibilants getting through. Just rolling off the treble would help. It's not always possible to do that on listening devices, but I expect you could do it on the video software.
