Like you, I figured out early on what I call The Rules of The Game. I dropped out of graduate studies in physics, and with a net worth of $2,100 opened a karate school, saved like crazy, and bought my first building a year later. I had to work for my money first before I had the money to work for me. And, like you say: before you can have your money work for you, you have to be educated in how to make all that happen.

@@AnthonyVicino They see the success but fail to note that along the way I lost $1,000,000 net worth twice due to economic collapse. I made it back each time. But it took 10 years. Each time. Success isn't just following the rules or smiling at yourself in the mirror, is it? It's perseverance and just a refusal to quit.

@@longwoodcurrencytrading We like to fixate on the wins/successes, but the reality is it's not a matter of "if" you'll get kicked in the teeth and lose money, only a matter of "when". That's why I'm such a proponent of building skills. Losing money isn't such a big deal when you know you have the skills to get it back! :)

Try trading currencies in real time decision mode where the time base when risk management of real estate fails totally under those conditions and the losses come at you like a flock of birds hitting your plane engine.... That takes a serious ability to know that you're skills are good but that it's just the timing that needs changing so that you make that next trade..... Thrilling.

I love the irony of parents putting their kids on *incredibly* strong drugs are such a young age because they don't want to deal with their kid being a kid (something they signed up for...) but then when they finally take them off of those meds and they face a new set of challenges they're just a bad student/son/friend. As someone who also has ADHD it's so frustrating to explain to people. As a child or teen it's not your job to know those things, our parents should be informed about the side effects, consequences, and alternative options. It's our job to learn coping skills to function, not to learn the ins and outs if pharmaceuticals. Sorry for the rant it's just nice that someone else gets this lmao. I am glad you're in a better place now, thank you for sharing your story with us.

There is nothing more exciting than walking into a classroom buzzing with the energy of intelligent, wacky students. Challenging and draining, yes. Having them go absolutely quiet because they are paying attention to something new they are learning, is awe-inspiring. Imagine if they were all dulled with a drug to make them more manageable.

I'm 21 and I'm grateful that the KZfaq algorithm brought me here. I was likely about to waste my 20s, all with that little voice in my head telling me that I still have so much untapped potential. Weirdly enough, my kidneys failing at the age of 20 may have some benefits. It forced me to leave college, where I was partying and confused as to why I was there in the first place. Over the last year, I've started to realize that the constant search for instant gratification leads nowhere; the vast majority of goals worth accomplishing are accomplished long-term. I've realized that what I crave more than anything is financial freedom/autonomy. I'm excited to change my life. I know I can do this

Thanks a lot! I am at one of the lowest parts of my life; and have been climbing out of the hole I dug myself into quite rapidly (its only taken somewhere around 6-months). Now, I am to shoot my way higher then before, thanks to this video (which was a reminder: I have the books that you mentioned; and read them. But now, I am coming back after loosing touch). I just wanted to say thank you. Really. I'm 27 and what you said about feeling a prisoner to your inability to tap into your potential, that kinda hurt. A lot. That's the exact same way I've been feeling since adolescence at least, if not before. So thank you for this video. Every bit resonated with me, and it gave me quite a lot to think about, as well as some more appreciated motivation into pursuing what I know I must, but I've been having trouble to. But it's time to build some discipline, it's been long due. Cheers!

As someone who sees a lot of my situation in your comment, I built more discipline from the 1960’s pull-up/calisthenics gym at my local public park and quitting smoking than I did from anything else in my life. Paid massive dividends the last couple years

18 year old feeling prisoner to tap into my potential ( do I even have potential? ) I was a refuge I came to America when I was 13 years old not knowing English, what I was supposed to do ? I guess I will get a high school diploma But than what ? My father and people around me all of them works as labor for companies Am I also going to become like them ? I only recently started to realize all of this when I worked at Walmart as cart attendant in summer hit I got fever from working there, I don't have car so I had to give half my money for Uber It was 14$ Hour

Sure, everyone has potencial! We often don't recognize it outselves because it seem so natural to ourseleves. Maybe ask your friends what they think your are good at (could also be personal traits). That you viewed this video tells that you are far beyond most people at your age (at your thinking). Be proud of that! Just realise: everything what we made and did as humans came out of thoughts and ideas first. (also recommend you checking out alex hormozi). All the best!!

I'm on the Autism Spectrum, so focus and repetitition are actually quite easy for me. I do however struggle with being tunnel visioned and doing the same things over and over. I made good side money as a street guitarist but I'd play at the same spots all the time. I'm currently trying to implement one of your concepts for my graphic design hustle. But I've pretty much just designed band logos so far for 10 people as a surprise. They never ask first, I just send finished work.

This video was life changing. Feeling lost on how to escape the trap of trading time for money in a dead end job is an understatement to say the least. to the point about talking about money, its not just that some people dont talk about money, maybe because they say its impolite, but I've even heard people say you never talk about money. You never let anyone know what you make, what your worth , what you spend, ect.... This is probably wise in most company but I have started making conversations about money more frequent with people I trust and that are receptive to it just l like any other topic of conversation find poeple that actually want to talk about it and have positive things to add to that conversation and also with people you trust, talk about your goals you'll find people actually want to help and this is how construct valuable and symbiotic relationships

I will also say, the first date example makes me feel a bit weird if I do have an extraordinary net worth because I wouldn't want that to be a core driver on why they want to build a relationship with me. Sure you can usually sniff that out at some point as an ingenue relationship but just don't want to waste the time on somone putting on a show is all.

As a "young" 27years old someone struggling with severe ADHD (inattentive) who has nothing going on in life other than countless problems, this was pretty inspiring. You are pretty much where I want to be one day. I tried changing my life once before when I was still unmedicated and it worked for like 2 months before everything came crashing down on me. Depression really sucks.

That doesn´t mean you can´t do it when you get born poor, it´s just way more unlikely in terms of numbers. And just because they´re rich doesn´t mean they´re not suffering from poor memory, suicidal thoughts, and other crap like that.

I am 16 right now and have given myself the goal of having a net worth of $100 000 by the age of 18 and am somewhat on the way there. Recently I started a small business and learned many skills along the way. Don't go to uni, I'm 19 and I'm in my first year as a mechanical engineer and I just feel that it's not what I want in life. If you got a business do that, I'm planning on talking a year off school to educate myself. I had my own shit going in highschool and made some money

I definitely don't regret my college experience so far - it taught me how to be disciplined and do the work I don't want to do and it motivated me to try even harder at my own thing so I don't have to go back - hopefully. I definitely don't think college provides much value aside from the degree

Great Great Video, thank you so much! 😊 Just one note: Horses are not made to carry their rider, they have to “learn” how to carry them. Otherwise they would hurt their back and overall bone structure. Nevertheless, the example was still very useful :)

Howard Marks is great advice. I would also include Warren Buffett letters to investors and Charlie Munger "Poor Charlies Almanac". If you really want to blow your mind. Ed Thorp and James Simons.
