Much love from your African sister ❤... I'm pregnant with twins and when I play pow wow music they go crazy, like they recognize it. My other 2 children love to dance around the living room to indigenous music, and I love exposing them to it. I live in America where the Native roots run as deep as the ocean. It can be felt 🙌🏿

@@brianbushfamily1814 there is no historic evidence of any native tribe coming from eat Asia, go around the country and ask any tribe where they came from, the creator put us here, we were rooted here, my tribe has been through two ice ages, but does the history books tell you that? No. So don’t tell anyone where they are from when you don’t know any history your damn self, go and educate yourself before making a damn fool of yourself on the internet.

These songs definitely bring the a energy of our ancestors to the drum as they where the ones to pass on these songs. They're not written or recorded but passed on. That is amazing. Obviously songs get recorded and written these days... but for them to survive through our people not being able to practice our traditions is awesome 👏

So friggin' beautiful. I've always wanted to see it live and I've been invited by a good friend and his uncle to attend locally but i always feel weird. Like I'm encroaching on something really spiritual that isn't a spectacle. I'm like "does that make me one of THOSE people?" Lol My ancestors were Scots (celts) and Vikings as far as genealogy says and they're dead cultures. It makes me sad but at the same time it makes me incredibly sad about my ancestors' history with that of these peoples'. Anyways, not gonna get all weird. But this is amazing and puts a lump in my throat. Honored to get to see it even on a small screen

It's really not necessary to feel like that, especially you are being invited, and from what I understand everyone at pow wows is so friendly and happy that you are there, just be respectful and enjoy yourself, you won't be treated as though you don't belong, because we're all family and we don't treat family members like outsiders

I haven't been to a powwow in years! Seeing this on video can only give you a small idea of what it feels like to be next to these drummers. You will feel it I'm your bones ans the energy can be felt as soon as you enter the circle!
