If you're native you get it. Our ancestors are proud. We get no respect but we trust no one because who can we trust. Powerful beat. If all the tribes ever get organized one voice, one people the demographics will change. I love this country but the natural resources are being destroyed and the hate runs rampant. Walk the path and honor your ancestors. They had it much harder than we currently have it but they respected the traditions. My grandfather taught me to never forget who I am and where I came from. In honor of the first people who founded this nation and made it their home for thousands of years I play this video of the black bear group playing double beat and voices ringing. I’m not native but at least I know who owned this land first, the Iroquois confederacy, the Sioux, the Cheyenne, the Pawnee, the Shawnee, and so much more. I commemorate these people and respect their voices and ideals.

one the things I remember most is my grandmother's funeral, she had powwow singers there......they sat and sang....it broke me...it affected me tremendously....this is our culture.....when I die................I want powwow singers around my tomb and sing...

Because it reaches into our very Souls. It is a Miracle that Indigenous People have been able to hold onto so many Traditions despite Genocide and the Residential Schools among so many other atrocities. I am 51 and my Métis Ancestry was denied to me for 50 years. I knew all along in my heart and know now without doubt. The First Nations Drum has called to me since I could walk and it always will :)
