"We've Come For You All" was stuck in my CD player for a solid 18 months in its release. I was running an old CD Warehouse in Port Charlotte. Nu Metal was huge at that time in our area but of all the one-hit wonders and all the stuff that was coming out at that time, Anthrax's "We've Come For You All" got so much damn plan in my store and my car. To this day I have a hard time listening to this record without listening to it from track 1 all the way through Track 11.... Also the hundreds of CDs I sold by playing it in the store. When you run a small retail music store that doesn't force you to play top 40 junk and you can play whatever you want, that is how you drive a record. It starts at the grassroots movement...

What a great story. I was guitarist in a death metal band in the heyday of the FL/DM scene and we covered Medusa, I am the Law and Madhouse. I put alot of NY/HC sound into my playing mainly due to my influence from Anthrax, SOD and Agnostic Front, among others. Scott wrote some of the best metal riffs of all time. I loved Anthrax in the 80's but I stopped listening to them when they changed their musical style in the early/mid 90's. Still a great group of guys and talented musicians. Thankfully, for my tastes, they play mostly the old thrash/mosh songs when I've seen them on stage in more recent years.

@@PaulCrookMusic AND WHAT WAS THE MISTAKE CARPENTER MADE???
@PaulCrookMusic
@PaulCrookMusic 3 жыл бұрын
@@juanlagos6982 Thank you for the question... I obviously misspoke my thought to Mr Carpenter... I was referencing the timing of the 1/8 notes in the 5/4 lick. I remember reading about how he used a stopwatch as a click track when recording the score. The timing isn't perfect which obviously creates incredible tension. I was trying to point out the brilliance of the imperfection. I simply didn't speak it correctly. I’d like to add that the Carpenter mention here is hysterical to me - NOW - and it is fun to talk about stuff like this. What isn’t mentioned is that Mr. Carpenter liked a bunch of my creative ideas. One in particular... If you look at the 1:54 mark you notice Mr. Carpenter nodding with positive intent. His head action is directed at me for a guitar part I created, not the drum part that the Anthrax editing team created here... Here is the actual footage: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etGGddCEzZPUc58.html Also, the main riff in this song was composed by Charlie and myself. I had this rolling type of riff that repeated in odd-time. Charlie evened it out, which in my opinion, made it even cooler!!! This is the riff you now hear. Saying all of this... I came across like a total douche-canoe... thinking now... I’m amazed the guys in ANTHRAX didn’t take me out back and beat the shit out of me. Seriously...

I've been a fan since '90 when I first heard State of Euphoria as a 15-year old. Until then I never had a band that I could both identify with musically and enjoy non-stop and that hasn't changed in 31 years. While your music has changed over the years the style is still there - that pounding, stomping, hardcore beat that drives every song whether it's fast or slow. Not everything is a hit but every song resonates with someone ("I'm Alive" has been my phone's ringtone since it came out 10 years ago!). And I agree with Brian Posehn when he said that you haven't laid an egg of a record. I can start at Fistful and finish at For All Kings and want to go back and re-listen. Can't wait to see you guys at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in September!

Mentioning the title of the Movie " Ghosts Of Mars" would have been a good idea and could have helped John out since the movie bombed...Some people like myself enjoy those cheesy sci fi movies...and sometimes this is how we find those lost cheesy gems.. But i guess maybe there is a reason you didn't mention it?

A very good reason: I forgot to render out the movie title over the clip. Whoops!

Every Carpenter film 'bombs', then it's rented into legendary status.

It wasn't a horrible movie. Not his greatest film for certain, but it was fun and had a great cast. I had no idea that Anthrax did the music for it, I just figured John made it himself on a PC.

Love this album. Loved the tour. Bush is GOAT. Bush sang all periods and albums and slayed them...Joey really only sings his stuff.

You know what, for the live stream they’re doing. I bet John makes an appearance for some songs. Really hope this happens.

i was at that benefit show. Ace Frehley kicked ass that night! . . . i always think anthrax stand out from the rest of the big 4 because in essence they are positive. slayer are dark, megadeth are technical, metallica are driven, and anthrax are positive. all of them are powerful and their music will always endure. i love this series. thx anthrax.
