The spider antidrop threw me off literally, because the prechorus is beautiful and then comes the antidrop with breathy vocals and the choreography 😭😭😭 I REALLY REALLY like spider, a masterpiece.

Hoshi's Spider has Taemin's Move vibes and I seriously CANNOT get enough of it. The choreo and the freakin performance 🔥 may be biased but it def deserves at the very least a nomination for best performance bec he def delivered ✨ ONEUS is seriously underrated 😭 been stanning them since LIT (still their best song ngl) but not getting their first win during Black Mirror WAS A CRIME ugh (Got it on LUNA tho DASURV) MAMAMOO songs are always chef's kiss. Their whole discography is just 👌🏼 no explanation needed really

There's also the reverse antidrop fake-out, where the antidrop follows the chorus and becomes a type of 2nd chorus. Sounds very satisfying because unlike the traditional antidrop, the tension is actually released first. Example: Cherry Bullet's "Love So Sweet". The chorus is very colourful and then as the 2nd chorus there's the shallow sounding cute antidrop.

Stylish is the perfect antidrop because it literally goes full on ACAPELLA lol. Loved most of these songs tho!

I have to say, Hoshi's Spider was a song none of my friends liked, but I really enjoyed listening to it, especially being able to just focus on his vocals which are just superb

Without these two we wouldn't be able to enjoy so many styles in kpop songs Also shinee's debut song replay gave dream to so many 3rd gen and 4th gen to idols to because idol (few ex : txt's taehyun , half of NCT, seventeen's hoshi ( fandom president of shawol) enhypen's niki)

spider's amazing discography is one thing (woozi always pull it off ok) but the choreography is ANOTHER thing. I've seen bunch of musician and dancers reacting to it, believe me but understanding what's happening in spider (from their perspective) seems flawless and just amazing- im neither but i still find the song breathtaking.. especially breathtaking bc horangi is my ult bias 😩😩

one really interesting “anti-drop,” i find, is without you by golden child! the pre-chorus actually doesn’t really build up a lot of tension, yet the drop still feels totally fresh and unexpected because of its minimalist, deep house elements that contrast with the rest of the song.

Cix's Jungle deserves to be on this, one of kpop songs who used anti-drops and served everything literally.

I have such mixed feelings about anti-drops, if executed badly it instantly ruins the song for me. But if executed well, it can create amazing songs. Often they end up as acquired tastes for me, like I really did not like Why Not at first, but now I love it; so it really is a risk I think. Despite that, some of my favourite songs have had anti-drops, so it is a risk worth taking. Also on another note, your videos are amazing, really well edited and they add your own unique personality/take to the video genre which really sells it. Feels less fabricated, while being factual and funny at the same time, so keep it up. :)

Soso by Winner is a masterpiece. If you read the lyrics, it talks about how the person is not happy nor sad but okay (so so). So when the song builds up and the anti drop comes in, it really embodies what the song is all about.

One (Lucid Dream) by Golden Child is an absolute masterpiece. The higher tone they sing in in the chorus just completes the impact of the anti drop it’s beautiful

Despite knowing that SM as a conglomerate and money hungry entertainment company they sure "pioneer" a lot sounds for the whole kpop industry. While their 1st or 2nd releases might not be popular with their masses it paves the way for other companies/musicians/songwriters/composers to explore and I'm so thankful for that. Kpop is one of my favorite sounds (even if you discount the "idol culture).

Stylish is one of LOONA's best songs their discography. Also, i believe their 'Oh Yes I Am' is also an anti-drop

Honestly, Deja Vu is iconic yet underrated at the same time and it’s weird. But I love that song and it prob wins between that and energetic (maybe I’m biased😂) but I just think the chorus feels so incredibly empty… but in the best possible way. The melody REALLY gets to shine and I love that. You Calling My Name and View have a special place in my heart as well
