Thank you so much for all of your educational videos - I love learning new things, and understanding things like song structure, anti-drops, and even where a group fits into the development of KPop as a whole, helps me appreciate KPop songs even more. You have a talent for both teaching and editing, and we're lucky to receive the benefits of both 😊 I'd love to see more of your educational videos, if you ever feel the urge to make any more. It honestly doesn't matter what you're teaching - you make it all interesting and entertaining! If you're actually looking for a topic, though, I often have to pause your videos to google the terms for specific music genres (like "deep house") that you use, so that might be a possibility?

I'm Korean, but the 5th gen of kpop is not here yet. Both local industry investment reports in Korea and press releases from entertainment reporters define the present as the 4th generation. Random 5th generation establishment can cause misunderstanding and confusion in translation😂

The transitions are so yummy and im only 1 minute and a half into the video im just starting to realize how damn messy igab is. 7 choruses in 4 minutes???? igab isn’t the bohemian rhapsody of kpop BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is the igab of pop

I clicked this on a whim, expecting it to be a pretty generic video on the kpop generations with super hard cut-offs…but this really surprised me. The way u unfolded how kpop has slowly taken over the world was just so captivating (and those mixes of tops groups and their songs really helped haha). This whole video honestly made me a bit emotional, as weird as it sounds. I became introduced to kpop in 2012 to the likes of SNSD, Shinee, Big Bang, BEAST and then later BAP, RV, OMG, and BTS. Seeing the gradual growth of the 3rd gen up until the explosive impact of BYS and their strong presence in the west and worldwide. It will never cease to amaze me how kpop has become so global, and if anything this video made me realize how “young” kpop is as a genre. Combined with the fact South Korea itself is a fairly “young” democratic country that survived so much, including Japan’s imperialism and the separation from North Korea. It’s just an impressive feat for a country and their pop music genre, and its also amazing to see the way kpop continues to draw so many people in. Overall, thanks for such a lovely video that really breaks down Kpop and understands the “generations” or eras at a deeper level!!

KPOP is a genre I don't really relate much, but I get it now, enjoy these type of music though, they are at least less harmful than western music. Long live KPOP 💕✨ I'd rather have my children listen to KPOP and watch KPOP groups than western music because of what they're propagating and the symbolisms that I wouldn't want my child to normalize. Subconsciously I'd say kpop is just earworm and catchy hooks than infectious messages.

This is so challenging even as a music producer, music producers really shine in kpop, its either a hit or miss and it's dependent on the producer how strong the kick the song would be and how powerful the group would come off

revisiting this video and i remembered a subtle choreo move i really loved, the "perfume hand" movement in la vie en rose, eunbi does it right at the end of the song, the girls do it in all the choruses, it's a small flick of the wrists but it's so dainty and elegant i love it sm

I’m a simple person, I see Sunny as your pfp, I click. EDITED: FYI, 1st Gen is also the mark of a literal cultural reset in terms of what is allowed/regulations in music broadcast in S.Korea. In which artists now are able to sing lyrics in english, enjoy a larger range of permissible styling and even gain profits for their music (album profits use to go solely to producers with artists/singers gain theirs only from performing). All which was not an option before. Source: Happy togther episode with TVXQ and Lee Seung Chul (2017). So yeah, came for Sunny, left with wisdom.

I'm glad you put Nmixx's O.O in the video and mention the fact that most people made separate versions of each part of the song bc now, nmixx has made two separate versions of O.O that we can hear in their Nmixx University fan shows. I hope they put those versions on a mini album some day.

This video is so well edited and informative. I would definitely source this to anyone who are wondering about kpop in general. Only thing I would recommend is to slow down the text speed, as I had to pause and read the text quite often, because I also wanna watch and enjoy the video at the same time.

And f(x) does that before every "experimentally famous kpop songs". Dont get me wrong, I love IGAB and SNSD but even back then sone was basically furious about the song bcs it sounds like something f(x) would do. F(x) need to appear more on kpop discussion since they do so many things differently, and they doing it CONSISTENTLY. Thank you for the video, but this video probably need more f(x)
