Factorio Speedrun (any%, peaceful, seeded, v1.0.0) in 1:46:49 by me, AntiElitz. Please leave a like if you enjoy the run. This was the current world record as of 22-Aug-2020.
RULES:
➤ The game is won by launching a rocket.
➤ Only 1 player is allowed.
➤ Free choice of map generator settings. Enabling "Peaceful mode" and using a set "Map seed" is allowed.
➤ Importing blueprints is NOT allowed. However, you may use blueprints created during the run.
FAQ:
➤ Why do you have such big ore fields?
I set the options for the world generator to very high frequency and very high size. I play the vanilla version of the game.
➤ How did you find this specific map?
Zulan wrote a mod that analyzed about 200 Million maps automatically. It sorted out the best of the best maps for manual review only. This map was one of them.
➤ What software do you use?
I use "OBS Studio" for recording and "LiveSplit" for the timer.
➤ What mapstring do you use?
Don't forget to add the typical 3 brackets before and after the string, KZfaq can't display them (v1.0.0):

Yes, I am as tired as I look, just returned from a Friday night before starting this attempt ;) . Splits are red in the end because I compare against my 0.18 run, but 1.0 has a new leader-board. It's still a World Record, but this run was flawful and I aim for a much better time, so I am not that exited at the end :P. Have fun watching!

If they "world records" would be done with default setting and cliffs i would be stunned. But this is more or less a fast building of a remebered Blueprint over lots of possible resources like 36:26 ...

This the "Any%" category which allows setting up everything to be as fast as possible. There is also a "Default Settings" category which is set up the way you describe. Anti also held a world record in that category at one point: www.speedrun.com/factorio/run/zgkewd0y

A large part of the problem with factorio speed runs is "Free choice of map generator settings" is a rule. This pretty much means you can role the easiest possible settings for the game on purpose, which is not something normally allowed for any other type of speed run for any other game. I'm not sure why it's allowed for factorio, as this should be doable with default settings (It'd even be more acceptable using one of the predefined setups like rail world or rich resources than this). 100% of Factorio speed runs are garbage because of this.

@@sirgouki6207 This is a any% speedrun. Default settings speedrun is a different ruleset, where you have to play a new map. If you want to watch that, which you can do, why do you watch any% instead? There are enough default settings speedruns on youtube.
