In this week's Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart work on more projects for their chateau guest room that will be the first bed and breakfast suite. Patrick refinishes the wood and adds some gold details to an antique bed crown (ciel de lit). Stuart gives the bedroom alcove it's final coat of paint, and then they install the bedcrown in its new location in the alcove.

Aloha Patrick and Stuart, SOGGY💦. Yes, a great deal of rain, day after day, can indeed be depressing. I could really hear the rain coming down. Poor Puppydoodles all cooped up inside.Just remember that sunshine always follows the rain - eventually. The Bed Crown is stunning. I love how Patrick said,” Aftef the wax and polish, it will look like it did 200 years ago. The muted gold, is delicately elegant. Sounded like such a creative idea for the bed curtains being the reverse of the wallpaper. It’s a shame the color scheme didn’t work. They will look lovely in another area of the room for sure. Please stay warm and dry🌞🏰🐾.

Hi Patrick and Stuart, A little polish, a hint of gold and a rough bed crown turn into a detail fit for a princess. And then there is always a bump in the road. No fabric goes to waste in a Chateau. If it doesn't work where you planned, It will just have to get used in another room. Mark & Scott

Good evening my lovely friends, I missed the live chat as I was busy again Patrick making more French chocolate bark but I had to scrimp on the chrystalised ginger as I ran out. Patrick darling I could listen to your voice all night reading a telephone directory as you are so eloquent and your diction is perfect. How disappointing for the fabric to come in the wrong shade; but like you are doing, looking at it as a glass half full rather than empty is always a good way to look at it. Hi sweeties. Love the headcrown with the golden touchup. Pitty the colors of the fabrics is slighty different. But as you said it can be used else where. Now the wall is finished in the alkoof it's all coming together. Just use checkered fabric for the bedcrown people will see that it's perfect for now. Stuart have a great time with your parents. See you Sunday evening guys. The gold wax worked well Patrick. I've never seen it before. We also have a lot of rain here in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and last Thursday we had a big storm over the land. So the Storm Surge Barrier had to be closed for our safety!

I observed a supervisor looking out but wisely staying in with you Patrick. The bed crown is in good condition and the wax is helping immensely. I like the discreet gold adornment. One time we 30 hours of rain. Normally I love it when it rains, but it was driving me over the edge. It had never in my life time done that. It made the roof over the living room leak. Rain can really mess up a house.

Liberon fait de très bons produits (cire, peinture, durcisseur pour bois vermoulu, etc...). Je ne connaissais pas ta cire pour dorer le bois le résultat est vraiment très réaliste je trouve. Someone already suggested building an ark, exactly what I was saying. Lol. The dogs standing in the doorway looked as weary of the constant rain as you. The bed crown is beautiful, very understated, in a classic way. I think the use of the check fabric is perfectly fine. It looked great on the headboard. I really liked Stuart's fleece pullover. Hi Patrick if it’s any consolation we had 5 months of rain in 2022 here in Sydney. Never seen before it was like a Rainbomb over Sydney. People were left with mouldy rooms and buildings needing jetwashing. Love your work on the bedcrown by the way 👍

Having worked with fabrics, design and colour, I understand how frustrating and disappointing it would have been when the fabric was incorrect. But... I love the check headboard fabric, have always been a fan of using checks, tartans and ginghams with prints, so using it for the bed crown gets a thumbs up from me! The bedcrown came out really nice. What products did you use as I need to do a project similar. Disappointing that the fabric didn't work, but glad you can use it elsewhere. 🎄🎅Joyeux Noel, happy holidays and ein gutes neues Jahr 2024! 🥳🥂 Thank you for all your hard work to create interesting and entertaining vlogs. And I must say that the bed crown with the same fabric as the head board will be stunning.I probably prefer that to the "reverse" wallpaper pattern because it would be too busy. Sometimes a malheur turns out to be a happy coincidence, I find.🙂🎄All the best to you both.
