I've purchased a 14" Imari plate with a pressed stamp in the bottom. There is light crazing. It rings like the one you've used for your demonstration. It's obviously hand painted because there are slight differences. The gold is worn. And it has a scalloped edge. Do you think it sounds like it might be from about 1910? I'd be happy to send pictures if you're interested in seeing it.

Is the bottom glaze smooth & even or is there evidence of the glaze "running" causing some lumpiness ?

Japanese plates basically have no collection value, because there are too many in the world!

It is rather ironic because the artwork on Japanese can look superior to Chinese. The Japanese mass produced a lot of 20th century transfer printed polychrome wares of good quality but not collectable for value because of the abundance.

You need to hold the plate still for people to be able to see what you’re talking about. You keep flipping it about and it’s impossible to study any detail.
