I have only got 3 music boxes . I love the boxes . They have such ambient sound.

Alice where art thou was the theme to Open all Hours. Rather nice considering that Old Arkwright had his eye on Nurse Gladys all the time. Happy times. And what beautiful magical machines these are. Oh I'd love one.

I've owned the miniature toy type music boxes and I've certainly enjoyed how they sound, but I'd love to actually hear one of those large boxes that can really play those deep bass notes like the ones in this video. I'd imagine if you were super close to the box and you could feel that beautiful music resonate in your body:)

There are lots of us who love these :) I fell in love with them back when I was about 13! the sound is so perfect, my video can't really do it justice, wish there were more opportunities to go and hear them, lots on line however!

such rich sound and the way they reproduce multiple voices is very creative.

I grew up with one of these Polyphon music boxes. The first one in this video is the same one that was kept in my Grandparents homes Foyer. Thank you so much for sharing this on You Tube. It really has made me smile and warmed my heart. My most treasured childhood memories are of dancing around to the many beautiful songs. Yes it is the most beautiful sound I've heard.

Electronic keyboard imitates player piano, music-box or barrel organ for demo and the voice of piano, harpischord, celeste, marimba, glockenspiel, vibraphone, xylophone, tubular bells, harmonium, pipe-organ, accordion, bandoneon, concertina, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, mandolin, guitar, lute, harp and all the musical instruments for manual play and drum kits for auto play rhythm pattern and orchestration of chord progression of guitar and piano with underlining on double-bass for some rhythm patterns and harmony of strings band along with drums for some other rhythm patterns. Electronic keyboard contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker so that it imitates all the musical instruments. Even quartz musical clocks to electronically imitates the tune played by music-box and hour strike sound on either dome shaped bell or thick and hard coiled wire because it contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board connected to speaker.

I remember going there years and years ago when it was first set up. Interesting to see it later in 2008 and I hope it's still going!

Very Good ! I remember years ago, my sister had a small music box, with a little figure of a ballerina in side. When she would open the top of the music box, the ballerina figure would dance to the music. I thought it was neat !
