Nos encontramos ante un concierto excelente, a la altura de su dúo nº3. No termino de comprender por qué los guitarristas no damos más publicidad a estas fabulosas piezas decimonónicas.

Antoine de LHOYER 1768 - 1852 virtuoso guitarist and composer of mainly chamber music featuring the classical guitar. … From an early age he was well educated in music, learning to play at first the harpsichord, then the five-string guitar. To further his musical education, he visited major European capitals, and by the age of 21 already enjoyed a reputation as a virtuoso guitarist. …A devout royalist, in 1789 he became a soldier in the Gardes du Corps du Roi, the bodyguard to Louis XVI. He fled from France after the massacre of guards by the crowd that invaded Versailles on 6 October 1789. ... The years 1794-7 saw him participating in the campaigns with the Austrian army, and in 1799-1800 he served with counter revolutionary forces in the Army of Condé. .. He travelled to St Petersburg where he was well received by the royal court, obtaining employment as a guitar teacher to the Tsarina and becoming a favourite of the Empress Elizabeth (Princess Louise of Baden 1779 - 1826, later known as Elizabeth Alexeievna, Empress of Russia during her marriage with Emperor Alexander I) … He spent a productive ten years in Russia, arranging Russian folk songs for the guitar and publishing solo and ensemble guitar works as well as several collections of Romances for voice and guitar (opus 18b to 26) … WIKI

I have the Orphée edition, without the second movement. Are there two different versions of the Concerto? (By the way, this second movement is beautiful)

I know that there is a modern edition made in the 60s (if I remember correctly, it is from 1964). If that edition includes changes, I don't know. Thank you very much for your interest.

@@RobertoPintos Dear Roberto, thank you for your answer. In the mean time, I did some research, the starting point being the beautiful tune of the second movement, that I must say, reminded me of something. In fact, I searched in my guitar duets of Lhoyer and I discovered that the second movement of the guitar duet op.31 n.1 is the original source of this II movement of the concerto. Then I went on the site of the edition of the score and this is the story: the original guitar concerto has only two movements, the conductor has added the second adagio movement orchestrating the above mentioned piece.
