They are both phenomenal Scrum Halfs and an absolute joy to watch. Where Dupont is high IQ with finesse and stylish play, DeKlerk is high IQ and always the Giant Slayer.

Big fan of Faf, but Dupont's technical palette and current form for the last years have been over the roof. Anyway, both of them are an absolute joy to watch, so guess we should simply be happy to witness that !

That is a silly question, and I ADORE Faf , I love his play, his temper, his passion, his strength, but there isn't even the beginning of an argument on who's the best between the two If you wanna see it from a stat perspective, Antoine Dupont is far more impacful than Faf on any aspect of his role Also Dupont was awarded player of the year last year, was a close third this year with the competition being so high alongside Lukhanyo Am, when Faf wasn't even nomitated and no one would argue about it As much as I love him and try to imbue myself with his game to progress as a player, one has to admit that Faf isn't even the best player in his own team THAT BEING SAID, it will be an incredibly close game, these teams are playing a wonderful rugby atm, the technical precision is at a point never reached before in our sports history, we are truly at the highest level in terms of performance, Les Bleus as well as the Springboks are both key contributors to this greatness

If Dupont maintains his form for the next 5-10 years, he will be remembered as the greatest rugby player of all time. Faf is great, top 3 in the world in his position, but Dupont is a special once-in-a-generation talent.

Faf is obviously a good player, i like him a lot, but i'm not even sure he is the best Scrum half in SA at the moment (Cobus. R is on par i think ). that being said no one can compare to Dupont at the moment, most complete player ever. In ten years time he will be remembered as one of the GOAT. Not sur Faf will.

From a South African: Faf is great on defense and is extremely tough for his size and has a lot of heart.... BUT Dupont's kicking game and vision is levels above Faf and I truly believe Dupont is the best in the world. Btw I'm very excited for the France u/20 scrumhalf... (not sure about the spelling of his surname so I'm not going to try) but to me he looks very promising and definitely stood out the most out of all the players in the u/20 tournament.

Dupont is much more than a 9, but I think that Dupont's arrival in rugby has allowed Faf to progress. The South African is better since he has been in rivalry with Dupont.

the thing is Dupont pulls off things no players can but he's also very easy to nullify and then he's no better than an average scrummage. faf is a really solid player no real faults to his game except speed, but he can never pull of what Dupont can and at the level Dupont can.

For the Boks though, Faf plays an important role which most people don't actually realise. However as an individual, DuPont isn't considered the best for no reason. Listening to a good analysis vid yesterday an interesting point was made, that the Boks are very good at shutting down the system in which the opposition plays and perhaps France may try play more an individualistic focused game which then makes sense why DuPont is so important to the French team.

@@gustannor6611you do not watch what Dupont is doing for 4 years now I think… You bring Sexton on the table and then you are that it is not comparable because he is old… Based on what Dupont did for the teams he played with and his abilities he is from ahead of Sexton. Do Sexton find 40m touch under pressure with both feet (and 40m as a 9 is way more difficult than a 10) ? Could he score from anywhere on the pitch ? Can he play 9 (cause Dupont can play 10 and is not a bad 10) ? Does he tackle big guys (even younger he took multiple head injury because he can tackle so well…) ? etc… We can continue if you want, just watch games and not just highlights of players to make an opinion because by saying that it shows how much you have pay attention to Dupont as an individual
