That is a Monstera.! It is going to grow and spread like crazy, it is going to be beautiful.They like indirect light, I know people that keep them in non-window bathrooms. They are slightly tropical in nature. I named mine Little Monster. Great choice very adaptable. Enjoy!

You will definitely need another container or saucer to catch the water. A nice stand will give it room to spread. This was a nice video.

The monstera will do great outside on the balcony as long as the temps are above freezing. There isn’t enough sun in that corner in the bedroom. The best place for a monstera is near a south facing window

Look great sometimes the eyes need a rest with nature. “Monstera” is a very popular ornamental plant in the home 🏡🌳👍

After I had gone to the elephant sanctuary, island hopped and kayaked at sunset I settled into a condo that overlooked the Central Festival Mall in Chiang Mai. I would sit on my comfortable couch, look at the main intersection floors below, eat ice (my new favorite thing) and decide if I wanted to just sit, watch Thai dramas, go swimming in the usually empty pool on the roof or hop on my scooter and ride around town. On my random scooter adventures I would get lost discovering temples, one time I came across farmers selling thee biggest mangos I had ever seen. I turned my scooter around bought some, hopped back on my scooter and went home. The mangos tasted great. I LOVED LIVING IN THAILAND.

LOL so those prices are heavenly!! monsteras can grow VERY big in the right environments!! one that size in austalia would easily be closer to $100! happy to see you cooking again, i go through seasons like that where i'm just all about it, or i just need convenience!

Monstera loves light, otherwise the leaves will grow small so by the balcony is ideal. The leaves split to look like Swiss cheese

I think it looks great in your room. That plant is going to grow huge. So the back door won’t be a great spot. You will be hitting and hurting leaves as you use your balcony. I suggest a tall grassy or vertical leafed plant. For beside your tv. Though I have so many plants. That I do move around as they grow and their needs change. You can of course do the same.
