If you are that distrusting of people use what is in place to protect it. Place who want on the deed, beneficiaries on insurance policies, dont commingle assets and bank accounts. You dont have live fear. Even if you dont get married there are still things you have to protect yourself against. For example, if you have a house and a room mate and they get mail at that location you can't kick them out. You have to evict them and they can be a lengthy process depending on circumstances.
