I really needed to hear this, thank you. Im 22 and the thought of being on my own fills me with existential dread, I've lived with family my whole life and worry constantly about if I'll be able to make it, I'm terrified at the idea of having to support myself when the day comes. I've dedicated myself to art and have little life skill. Taking it slow and feeling it out is a great idea, I always imagined it was a one-and-done deal where you're out and that's it. But you're right, it's a HUGE lifestyle change and can be overwhelming for anxious people in its unpredictability. Still keeps me up at night, I feel like I'm running out of time to be young lol, the months pass by. I think I'll be fine, but even the idea of living alone in an apartment scares the hell out of me.

I'm 36 and the thought makes me teary eyed right now. I will be moving out with my long time gf to a unit 1-2hrs away from home to be near our offices. We'll move in 2 weeks and I still feel so sad, crying inside but a little bit excited. Sadness is overtaking my excitement at the moment. Add to the fact that I can never or we can never stay in our parents house forever because we aren't rich and can't support them forever. All 36 years of my life I've been here and will go out in a matter of weeks.

Hey there! Felt like reaching out; I’m 25 and just moved out of my family’s house for the first time… in a city 6 hours away from my old home. Today’s my first day. I was absolutely flooded with anxiety the moment I stepped through the door and realized how much more difficult it would be for me mentally. One of the biggest things that really helped me was having people supporting me / helping me with the move, massive difference obviously; another that helped eased the anxiety was starting to get my stuff settled in (bed, paintings / photos, kitchen stuff, etc.). It really helps offload the anxiety bit by bit. Hope this helped!

I'm crying so much now and I'm only half way through your video. I'm moving out soon, and I have soooo much anxiety. And the part where you talk about going back to your parents house and staying as long as you like just helped me a lot. I thought it was wrong maybe that I was the only one thinking that whilst renting. Just have me some space in my head! Thanks ❤️

@@rejham2304 I'm 20 and I moved out five days ago. I woke up the first three days with pretty bad anxiety, but on the fourth day, I barely had any anxiety, and having just woken up on the fifth day, I only had a little bit of anxiety. But I keep reminding myself why I moved out. I need to grow up, and evolve myself. I know deep down that I can't stay in my boy room for the rest of my life. How would that look like when I'm 30? I would have no skills in life, and I would be a massive train wreck of a person then. And I also remind myself that while I have moved out (about 10-15 min car drive from old home), it's not like I won't ever see my parents again. My mom lives in the city, and my dad a couple of kilometers away with his new partner, and so I know that I can go there anytime I want. But I try to stay strong, and remind myself that this is for the best. I really think you should take the leap forward. It will be hard at first, and you will have anxiety no matter what you do. But as you get settled in to your new home, as I feel I'm gradually doing, and as you have your family over to your new place, it makes it feel more homely, knowing they've been in your home, and perhaps helped you unpack, and that makes you feel safer. In the end, this is all for your own personal development. You need to face this challenge at some point in your life, and while I think you shouldn't move out when you're too young, say 17-18, but around the 20 mark is a good start, even if you're not completely mature, which I certainly am not, but it will help you grow as a person and make you strong. Sorry for rambling but it also felt good for me to get this off my chest.

This is what I’m scared of. I do want to be independent and able to progress in life on my own but at the same time I’m so scared of leaving my humble abode where I have been brought up since 2003!!! I’m scared I’m not going to like where I move or what my neighbours are like all that jazz. I feel nauseous about it sometimes but this video really really helps to overcome those barriers 🥰🥰. Thank you so much.

I wish I saw this sooner. I made the mistake of making the decision to move out out of anger, frustration and annoyance when I got into a fight with my mom. Also from the pressure of society saying I should be moved out by now (I’m 26). I’ve only been in my new place for almost a week and I’m basically crying every single day. I miss home. I feel like I’ve made a giant mistake.

How do you feel now? I am in the same situation right now and people keep telling me that it needs time and that most of the people are crying and things like that in the first weeks... I wanted to keep on since it had been my wish to move out, but since I am here I just want to go back and keep getting anxious and start crying
@Sceryn95
@Sceryn95 Жыл бұрын
@@iloveyeshua8096 I definitely feel a lot better now, and am happy with the decision that was made. Signed another year lease to be where I’m at again. Definitely make the place your own if you haven’t yet, put things up on the walls, decorate in things that make you happy. I was putting off doing that in the beginning and once I started I feel like it started easing some. Talk to those you can trust and be open with, support from friends or close coworkers can really be helpful as well. I ended up getting a cat at the end of the first month I was here. She helped A LOT. I was use to having pets at my family’s so I think coming home to an empty space was also negatively effecting me. She was giving me a reason to come home to my place every night. She’d run up and greet me every time I came home, still does🥺 I’m sorry you’re going through it, it’s mentally and physically draining. I felt like I was mourning the loss of a chapter in my life if that makes sense? Adjusting to a new norm can be really hard, but It will be okay, things do get better🤍 I hope this helps in some way, if even a little.

I hate living in my country. the culture is not my own, the salaries are not up to my skills, and I just don't connect to people as often as I would someplace else. I actually had a few trips where I visited places, the first time I ever traveled by airplane was to Amsterdam and I have stayed there alone for 10 days. I did catch myself call home a lot. I think this is the most scary part for me. My family. I want to move to Europe for school and me being 20 I need my own space. I had a home test for my current Uni and I could hear my parents downstairs. it's very annoying, but I fear i'll miss them and or miss out from happy moments with them, like birthdays and holidays. they all are not in love with our country, like I don't, but they won't move with me even though as far as visa's go we are legitable.

I'm 21 and I moved out from home a week ago. I've been living with my mom in a house all my life, and I have moved into an apartment.. I suffer from anxiety too, and every single time I hear a noise, I think it's someone trying to break in to rob me, rape me and kill me... It's just the neighbors, but my head doesn't realize that in the moment - sending me into a small panic attack every time. Some of my furniture hasn't arrived yet, and some is here but hadn't been assembled, so there's just a lot of big empty, cold space that doesn't feel like home. I feel like I don't have a home anymore. I'm hoping that things will get better soon since my anxiety has never been this active before... I'm just,,, exhausted

And I’d didn’t move too far away. But I haven’t eaten in a day and ive been having a hard time sleeping unless my friend who I’m now living with was in the room too.

I just moved from Glasgow to Cumbria on my own today and I absolutely hate it 😩 I couldn’t afford to keep my flat so I had no choice ☹️

Im 32, I moved on my own for about a year, but decided to come back to my family. At first it was fine, but both of my brother and sister moved out on their own and now Im left with my parents. I have been thinking quite a lot about this, I used to be the one who is vocal about moving out, now I feel anxious thinking about it.

I have a question that's been troubling me for a while and I'm hoping you can help me :) I don't know if i'm shy or have anxiety. I'm overthinking about all the things all the time (about what could be, what was, what that person could have thought ...) I'm scared sometimes for no reason, when I'm just lying or i don't do anything, but i'm scared everytime I go to work or my phone rings because it's a possibility that somebody from work is calling me (but i like it there). I'm there for almost 1 year and I'm still not that close with my coworkers i just don't fit in... But i'm not scared of stranger if i know i won't see them again. I have only problems if i know i will see them again or that person knows somebody i know. It's much moreto say but it's allready too long. Sorry for my english.. i hope you will reply soon.:)

@@ananyamandal4252 Hey. After 4 years I can say that i have still same kind of worries. Still the same me. About the working place at that time, I quitted not long after a panic attack at work. But now I found a great job, where i don’t have to talk to so many people. I am doing good, accepting that thats just the way I am.. And i don’t feel the need to fit in anymore…I have still days or weeks where i am depressed but i think they will be almost completely gone in the near future, when i complete school, become independent and i am closer to accomplishing my life goals. Btw I am now 25 and working on a master degree and working an engineering job. My mother always says, that life is hard but you have to fight. I hope you are doing ok.

@@derpyhooves5603 thanks for sharing. I'm doing fine but sometimes I have some panic attacks which I have to deal by myself. I'm sure I will survive this. I'm 21 and working from last 3 years. I used to be outgoing I don't know how it changed. I'm proud to hear your story. Keep going🌼

Hey I know this video is pretty old like posted a few years ago but any help would be Appreciated… it’s not really the being by myself that’s the problem I love being on my own it’s all the bills and taking to the agency n all that ,that scares the living life out of me..I don’t know how to talk to people and that kinda stuff that I’m struggling with…
