Anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic attacks (including panic disorder and agoraphobia), specific phobias, and social anxiety disorder together make up the single most common group of mental disorders, so it’s important to have a framework for both diagnosing and treating them.
Learn more about anxiety disorders, including their DSM diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, prognosis, and treatment, in this high-yield mnemonics-filled lecture intended for all healthcare providers, including doctors, medical students, psychologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, and more!

From experience, The instant cure for anxiety is to understand the fact that there are infinite amount of possible outcomes in this universe and our brain only thinks of a handful . A bad outcome can become the means of a good outcome in the future. Just like that a good outcome can become the means of a bad outcome. For example, you lost your job (bad thing). But then you got a new job which is better ( bad thing led to a good outcome.) It's an endless cycle. So just go with the flow and don't think about it . 😄 Goodluck.

The problem is: The positive outcome, or the understanding that we were catastrophizing for nothing, only comes to the realization…long after we were derailed by anxiety.

Anxiety isn't just some logical thing where you are worried about outcomes. People are often anxious about a negative feeling that they don't want to have, such as the horrible feelings experienced with social anxiety.

I don't doubt your anxiety disorder is real and that this way of positive thinking helps you. My clients who are diagnosed DSM with Anxirty Disorder have tried this. It does not work for them. The distortion that "worst case scenario" is the most likely outcome is too strong.

Yes that is why talk is cheap. I myself have been diagnose with GAD or generalized anxiety disorder and have been living with it for 20 plus years with the help of my doctor and medication i am better but still fighting so when i saw someone commented here especially the first one, i know right away that he does not know what he is talking about. Not only this person but i knew some people say the same thing and think this is as easy as they said it is. I appreciate the rest of the comments from others because you guys surely can relate and understand better about this matter. And i feel supported by your comments. Thank you.

If you have high anxiety like me Do these 3 things it helps me a lot: 1. Your Mind must be rational. 2. Your Breath: Double inhale and exhale slowly. 3. Observe the Person that u feel anxiety from by project ur attention outward. The easy is body language the hardest is their facial expression. Repeat the step 2-3 time.

Since I was 7 years old till 19 years old I always got bullied back then it makes me not confident coz for that long period they feed me with negative words about my body . I don't really remember about my past just few bad memory like when i didn't wake up my mom throw water throw the window and I still remember she laughed about it with bunch of people she didn't care about her child reputation , she didn't do anything when someone called me fat , elephant, Whale even monster at that time idk about mental health is what I knew food can heal me calm me down so I'm addicted to foods . I spent all my childhood at home I like being alone and feel uncomfortable around with people even my classmate coz I didn't dress up well and insecure about my look . Now I'm 31 years old coz I was living abroad and my people I worked with always told me I'm Smart , I work so well and I'm nice it gives me positive thoughts about my look and start to love the way I look . I dare to go shopping without worrying people will start at me coz I was fat. But coz of COVID-19 I lose my job it makes me should back to my village the nightmare that I always afraid . I'm too naive I thought they Will change coz when I was working abroad I always share what I've to them *for fking 11 years* it's mean nothing for them they started bringing my look , my skin color like I was working that hard my work schedule was messed up something I must work at 2 p.m sometimes I work at 8 p.m ,they called my thighs ugly, shaggy and big but they forgot the money they got from me I EARNED IT WITH THIS BODY !!! not they skinny children who is never worked but with this ugly fat body !! It's give me depression or PTSD from December to February I always think about suicides and all the fking times I always hear *why you still want to live in this cruel village*
